Brent Sopel scored twice with one coming on the power play and singles came off the sticks of Alexander Frolov and Sean Avery. Craig Conroy pocketed two assists in the win.
Brendan Shanahan scored his 10th of the season for the lone Ranger goal and Henrik Lundqvist stopped 28 shots in a losing effort.
