Kings take win over Flyers in shootout
The Los Angeles Kings got another solid effort from rookie goaltender Jonathan Quick in a 2-1 shootout victory over the Philadelphia Flyers at STAPLES Center Saturday.
Los Angeles won as a -108 home favorite while the final score played under the 5.5-goal total.
Quick stopped 31 shots and came up big in the additional periods. Dustin Brown scored the clinching goal in the shootout. Wayne Simmonds scored on the power play in regulation.
Scott Hartnell scored the lone goal for the Flyers. Philly goaltender Antero Niittymaki made 31 saves in the loss.
