The win was clinched by Dany Heatley, who beat Jason LaBarbera in a shootout to gain the extra point in the standings for Minnesota. Minnesota got goals from Kyle Brodziak and Steve Kampfer in the victory. Brodziak opened the scoring at 4:06 of the first period.
Josh Harding stopped 24 of 24 Phoenix shots in the victory.
Phoenix got goals from Raffi Torres and Lauri Korpikoski in the loss, but it wasn't enough.
Phoenix got a 22-stop effort from Jason LaBarbera in the loss.
On the power play, Minnesota went 0-for-1, while the Coyotes were 0-for-4 with the man advantage.
Phoenix outshot Minnesota 41-24 in the game.
Minnesota looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Flames. The Coyotes will aim to get back on the winning track vs San Jose.
