Columbus locks down Atlanta for shutout win
The Columbus Blue Jackets held the Atlanta Thrashers to just 15 shots in their 2-0 win at Philips Arena Saturday night.
Columbus won as a -101 road favorite while the final score played under the 5.5-goal total set by sportsbooks.
The Blue Jackets opened scoring on Rick Nash's first-period goal and R.J. Umberger added an insurance score in the third. Rookie goaltender Steve Mason faced little action for his career shutout.
Atlanta goaltender Ondrej Pavelec turned away 29-of-31 shots. The Thrashers have now lost three straight games.
