Ondrej Pavelec stopped 29 of 31 shots for the Thrashers, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.
On the power play, New York went 0-for-2, while the Thrashers were 0-for-3 with the man advantage.
Atlanta lost the shots on goal battle to New York by a margin of 31-22.
