Blue Jackets shut down Hurricanes

Nikolai Zherdev potted two goals and added two assists to lead the Columbus Blue Jackets to a 4-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night.

The Jackets won as -150 home favorites as the teams played under the 5.5-goal total set by sportsbooks.

Rostislav Klesla and Kris Beech also scored for Columbus, which was outshot 24-23 on the night.

Eric Staal scored the lone goal for the Hurricanes in the loss.
