The battle between the Predators and Oilers didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Edmonton was handed a 6-0 defeat on Friday at Bridgestone Arena.
The Predators were a -185 favorite in the win. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 5.
Colin Wilson (2), David Legwand, Richard Clune, Patric Hornqvist, and Zach Boychuk each scored for the Predators in the victory. Hornqvist opened the scoring for Nashville, finding the back of the net at 6:07 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Colin Wilson and Mike Fisher.
Pekka Rinne turned in a 24-save effort for the Predators.
Yann Danis stopped 17 of 21 shots for the Oilers, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.
On the power play, Nashville went 2-for-4, while the Oilers were 0-for-0 with the man advantage.
Edmonton lost the shots on goal battle to Nashville by a margin of 34-24.
Nashville heads into a battle against the Wild. Edmonton, meanwhile, will have their next action against Chicago.
