James Reimer stopped 32 of 36 shots for the Maple Leafs, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.
On the power play, Buffalo went 1-for-4, while the Maple Leafs were 2-for-4 with the man advantage.
Toronto lost the shots on goal battle to Buffalo by a margin of 36-34.
Buffalo looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Canadiens. The Maple Leafs will aim to get back on the winning track vs Boston.
