The win was clinched by Andy McDonald, who beat Chad Johnson in a shootout to gain the extra point in the standings for St. Louis. St. Louis got goals from David Perron in the victory. Perron opened the scoring at 9:58 of the first period.
Brian Elliott stopped 33 of 34 Phoenix shots in the victory.
Radim Vrbata scored for the Coyotes, finding the net behind Brian Elliott.
Chad Johnson stopped 29 of 30 shots for the Coyotes, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.
On the power play, St. Louis went 0-for-2, while the Coyotes were 1-for-3 with the man advantage.
St. Louis lost the shots on goal battle to Phoenix by a margin of 34-30.
St. Louis looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Stars. The Coyotes will aim to get back on the winning track at Chicago.
