Carolina vs Boston Wrap - Boston Wins 5-1

The battle between the Bruins and Hurricanes didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Carolina was handed a 5-1 defeat on Saturday at TD Garden.

Bettors who backed the Bruins were rewarded as -195 favorites at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go OVER the closing total of 5.5.

Jarome Iginla (2), Chris Kelly, Milan Lucic, and Torey Krug each scored for the Bruins in the victory. Lucic opened the scoring for Boston, finding the back of the net at 15:28 of the first period. The goal was assisted by David Krejci.

Chad Johnson turned in a 29-save effort for the Bruins.

Alexander Semin scored for the Hurricanes, finding the net behind Chad Johnson.

Carolina got a 36-stop effort from Cam Ward in the loss.

On the power play, Boston went 0-for-2, while the Hurricanes were 0-for-3 with the man advantage.

Carolina lost the shots on goal battle to Boston by a margin of 41-30.

Next game, Boston takes its act home to face Minnesota looking for another win. For Carolina, they head home to face Edmonton.
