Florida couldn't break through the Carolina defense on Thursday, failing to score on Anton Khudobin in a 3-0 loss at BB&T Center.

Jiri Tlusty (2) and Jeff Skinner each scored for the Hurricanes in the victory. Tlusty opened the scoring for Carolina, finding the back of the net at 9:09 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Eric Staal and Brett Bellemore.

Dan Ellis stopped 18 of 20 shots for the Panthers, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.
