Recap - Wild Defeat New York 6-0
The battle between the Wild and Islanders didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as New York was handed a 6-0 defeat on Tuesday at Nassau Coliseum.
Minnesota won as a -121 favorite, while Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 5.5 were rewarded at the payout window.
Matt Moulson (2), Clayton Stoner, Mikael Granlund, Jared Spurgeon, and Justin Fontaine each scored for the Wild in the victory. Moulson opened the scoring for Minnesota, finding the back of the net at 12:23 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Justin Fontaine and Mikko Koivu.
Ilya Bryzgalov turned in a 36-save effort for the Wild.
Anders Nilsson stopped 16 of 22 shots for the Islanders, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.
On the power play, Minnesota went 1-for-3, while the Islanders were 0-for-3 with the man advantage.
Minnesota lost the shots on goal battle to New York by a margin of 36-22.
Minnesota looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Devils. The Islanders will aim to get back on the winning track vs Columbus.
