The battle between the Canucks and Maple Leafs didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Toronto was handed a 4-0 defeat on Saturday at Rogers Arena.
Vancouver was favored by -160 and came through for bettors backing them. The game went UNDER the consensus closing total of 5.5.
Vancouver got goals from Daniel Sedin, Chris Higgins, Dan Hamhuis, and Zack Kassian in the victory. Sedin opened the scoring at 6:03 of the first period.
Roberto Luongo turned in a 21-save effort for the Canucks.
James Reimer stopped 43 of 47 shots for the Maple Leafs, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.
On the power play, Vancouver went 1-for-9, while the Maple Leafs were 0-for-4 with the man advantage.
Toronto lost the shots on goal battle to Vancouver by a margin of 47-21.
Vancouver looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Coyotes. The Maple Leafs will aim to get back on the winning track vs New Jersey.
