The battle between the Blue Jackets and Islanders didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as New York was handed a 4-0 defeat on Sunday at Nationwide Arena.
The Blue Jackets were a -225 favorite in the win. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 5.5.
Jack Johnson, Mark Letestu, Boone Jenner, and Ryan Murray each scored for the Blue Jackets in the victory. Jenner opened the scoring for Columbus, finding the back of the net at 4:26 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Mark Letestu and Ryan Johansen.
Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 31 of 31 New York shots in the victory.
Anders Nilsson stopped 29 of 33 shots for the Islanders, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.
On the power play, Columbus went 3-for-6, while the Islanders were 0-for-2 with the man advantage.
Columbus outshot New York 33-31 in the game.
Next game, Columbus takes its act home to face Phoenix looking for another win. For New York, they head home to face Ottawa.
