St. Louis was competitive in most of the games it played in last season, putting together an 11-5 ATS record while going 7-8-1 SU. The departure of Steven Jackson and the acquisitions of offensive lineman Jake Long, tight end Jared Cook, and wide receiver Tavon Austin make St. Louis’ intentions pretty clear; the Rams want their entire offense to revolve around the arm of Sam Bradford. With additional time to throw and more weapons at his disposal, Bradford could see a spike in production this season, which could lead the Rams to compete for a wild card spot in the NFC.
St. Louis Rams 2012-2013 Season Odds
The Rams were consider an outside contender in the NFC West last season, but nothing went right and the season was an absolute bust. St. Louis won only two games last season as their offense completely tanked and their defense didn't do much better.
Odds to win NFC West: +800
Rams quarterback Sam Bradford had a frustrating 2011 season, during which he was hampered throughout by injuries. In 10 games Bradford passed for 2164 yards with only six touchdowns and six interceptions. Even when healthy Bradford lacked any real go-to- receiving targets and the Rams hope to have addressed that with the return of a healthy Danny Amendola and by drafting Brian Quick.
The Rams only reliable offensive weapon last season was running back Steven Jackson. The veteran back rushed for 1145 yards on 260 yards, but with the passing attack being a bust he only had four touchdowns. Jackson remains the No. 1 in St. Louis, but the Rams may have found his successor if second round pick Isaiah Pead delivers on his potential.
On defense the Rams boasted some great numbers against the pass last season, but they may be somewhat misleading. St. Louis was seventh in the league versus the pass, but that was mainly because they were so bad against run no one needed to pass against them. The Rams were 31st (152.1 yards per game against the run last season, but did not do much to address that weakness in the offseason.
One of the biggest changes for St. Louis this season was the hiring of head coach Jeff Fisher and defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. However, the Williams hire may as well be void, as he's currently suspended indefinitely for his role in the Saints Bounty scandal.

St. Louis Rams 2011-2012 Season Odds Preview
St. Louis bounced back from an abysmal 1-15 season in 2009 to come within one game of making the playoffs last season. The transformation came thanks to 2010 first overall pick Sam Bradford, who stepped right in and played at a high level last season.
This year, St. Louis comes into the regular season with expectations as they are the popular pick to win the NFC West. With a year of experience under Bradford’s belt, and a slew of new weapons on offense, a step forward could be in the cards.
Odds to Win NFC South: +160
Sam Bradford was asked to throw the ball a lot for the Rams last season, and he delivered. Bradford threw for 3,512 yards and 18 touchdowns (with 15 interceptions) en route to offensive rookie of the year honors.
This year, he’ll have a lot more weapons at his disposal. Mike Sims-Walker was brought in as a free agent, and St. Louis drafted college standouts Austin Pettis (Boise State) and Greg Salas (Hawaii). They also drafted versatile pass-catching tight end Lance Kendricks.
Bradford will also have more weapons in the backfield to hand the ball off to. Steven Jackson is still the main man (1,241 rushing yards in 2010), but he is joined by free agents Cadillac Williams and Jerious Norwood, who will help carry the load in the running game.
With so much talent added on offense, along with a year of experience under Bradford’s belt, the offense could take a big step forward this year.
Defensively, not much changed this offseason. St. Louis was slightly below average against both the run and the pass last year, but was adequate enough and held opponents to less points (20.5 per game) than any other team in the NFC West.
The NFC West is a tricky division to predict, and the division winner rarely separates itself from the pack. That said, St. Louis has the talent to win eight or nine games, and that should place them near the top.
