Suns Mavericks battle lines drawn
NBA Tuesday game odds set up a three-day bonanza of intriguing basketball wagering options that include the Suns Mavericks battle.
Phoenix Suns (15-6) at Dallas Mavericks (14-7)
Bovada opened the Mavericks as 4 point favorites in this game with a total of 214.5.
This season the Mavs are 6-3 at home and 12-9 ATS and the Suns are 8-6 on the road and 11-10 ATS.
The Mavs are in first place in the Southwest Division, but have lost two games in a row while the Suns are in second place in the Pacific Division and are coming off a loss.
The Suns are back to being a run-and-gun team and they are the second highest scoring team in the league at 109.3 ppg. They will be tested tonight, as Dallas has a legit defense ranking ninth in points allowed (96.7 ppg).

The Mavs, mainly PG Jason Kidd, has to slow down the tempo if the game, as if they get into a shootout with the Suns they will be in trouble. Kidd will have to contain Steve Nash, who is scoring 17 ppg and leads the league with 11.1 assists per game.
If the Mavs can slow down this game they will be in great shape since the Suns are not a good defensive team to say the least, as they rank 27th in points allowed 106 ppg.
Dirk Nowitzki (26.7 ppg) has to have a good shooting game and also hit the boards well not allowing the Suns to have many second chance opportunities. Nowitzki and C Erik Dampier have to play solid D on Amare Stoudemire (19 ppg 7.8 rpg) and not let him dominate the glass and start the fast break.
The Mavs are slumping and they have to shoot better than they have in their last two losses where they shot 35.2% in Friday’s loss to Memphis and then 37.3% on Saturday’s loss to Atlanta.
The best way to thwart the fast break is to make baskets, which the Mavs have not done in their last two games. If they continue to struggle with their shot the Suns may have a field day tonight and score a ton of points off the break.
Wednesday NBA game odds
Cleveland Cavaliers at Houston Rockets
The Cavs are playing well winning four in a row and going 8-2 in their last 10 games. It looks as if they are learning how to play with Shaq. The surprising Rockets are only 5-5 in their last 10 games, but they are still in second place in the Southwest Division.
Utah Jazz at L.A. Lakers
The Jazz are streaking going 8-2 in their last 10 games. There is no hotter team in the NBA than the Lakers, who have won their last nine games and they have the best record in the NBA. They have Pau Gasol back and he and Andrew Bynum are both averaging double-doubles.
Thursday opening NBA lines not set yet
Denver Nuggets at Detroit Pistons
The Nuggets may be a legit title contender this season and they are 8-2 in their last 10 games and lead the Northwest Division by four games. The Pistons are four games under .500 and even though they have won two in a row they are 3-7 in their last 10 games. The Pistons have to start winning or they will miss the playoffs for the first time in a long time.
Orlando Magic at Utah Jazz
The Magic are the hottest team in the Eastern Conference going 9-1 in their last 10 games including winning five in a row. The Jazz are also playing well and they are one of the toughest teams to beat at home. The Carlos Boozer vs. Dwight Howard match up will be a sweet one to watch.
