Super Computer Week 2 Contest Picks

It wasn’t exactly the best opening week to the NFL season for the OddsShark Super Computer. However, the numbers have been tweaked, the dials have been adjusted and the Super Computer is set to rebound from a tough Week 1.

Without further ado, here are the OddsShark Super Computer’s Week 2 picks for the Super Contest.

Giants (-4.5) Over Saints

The Giants are currently 4.5-point favorites for their home opener against the New Orleans Saints and, coming off a big road win against the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday, this team will be flying high entering Week 2.

With their 20-19 triumph in Big D, the Giants salvaged a push for their backers last week while the Saints lost to the Oakland Raiders courtesy of a ballsy two-point conversion in the dying moments of the game.

The OddsShark Super Computer expects a 10-point Giants victory here and the Super Computer likes the 4.5 points this team is giving to a Saints defense that gave up 167 yards on the ground and 391 through the air.

Redskins (-2.5) Over Cowboys

Kirk Cousins torched the Dallas secondary last season, even though the Cowboys allowed the fifth-fewest passing yards in the NFL. Cousins completed 73.9 percent of his passes while throwing for four touchdowns and no turnovers against the Cowboys last season.

On the flip side, the Cowboys will start Dak Prescott under center who performed OK in Week 1 against a non-third string, preseason defense. If Cousins continues to play the way he has against the Cowboys, then Prescott will need to sling it a lot. Advantage: Redskins.

Steelers (-3.5) Over Bengals

The Steelers head into their Week 2 matchup with the Bengals as the home favorites. Both teams have started 1-0 but Pittsburgh holds the distinct advantage in this divisional matchup.

Cincinnati has won just once in the last six matchups with Pittsburgh while the Steelers are 4-0 in their last four games at home. Furthermore, the Steelers have outscored the Bengals by 50 points in their six games with the Steel Curtain’s average margin of victory at 10 points.

Looking even further back in the history of this matchup, the Bengals are a pitiful 5-14-1 against the spread in their last 20 games against the Steelers.

Ravens (-6.5) Over Browns

The Ravens enter this game as outright winners in 14 of their last 16 games against the Browns, whose six home losses last season came by an average of 13.3 points. The Ravens have a 6-1 SU and ATS record in Cleveland with Joe Flacco as their QB with five of those six wins coming by 10 points or more.

All this combined with the fact that the Browns’ starting QB plans for the year blew up in their face with RG3 likely out for the season should equal a convincing Ravens win and cover in Week 2.

Texans (-3) Over Chiefs

The new-look Houston Texans find themselves as 3-point home favorites against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2, which is a bargain for Texans backers.

The Chiefs hung 33 points in a comeback win over the lowly Chargers last week, but Houston’s defense is much more formidable. Led by Brock Osweiler, Lamar Miller and DeAndre Hopkins, the Texans have no shortage of offensive weapons to light up K.C. all day.

It’s early in the year, which means oddsmakers aren’t quite sure what to expect from certain teams. Houston is in line for a big season, so taking them at -3 against a much weaker Chiefs club is a steal.
