Monday Night Football Game Gives Five Team OddsShark Members Win on Crazy Play

The Monday Night Football matchup between the unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs and the Washington Redskins was one of the most popular games of Week 4 according to Team OddsShark, with nine members split nearly evenly on the result against the spread in the Super Contest. Fortunately for most of them, a fumble return for a touchdown by Kansas City’s Justin Houston in the final seconds turned what looked like a sure ATS loss into a cover as the 7-point favorites earned a 29-20 home victory.

The Chiefs were forced to settle for what still turned out to be a game-winning field goal with eight seconds remaining for a brief 23-20 lead. But Houston picked up a failed lateral attempt by the Redskins and returned it 13 yards for a TD with four seconds remaining to turn a loss into a win for five lucky members of the team. That includes newcomer Jason Kirk, who went 4-1 and has gone 9-1 the past two weeks to move into a first-place tie with defending champ Frank Schwab atop the group standings at 14-6.

The other four members of Team OddsShark who had Kansas City were Anthony Riccobono, Dan Lyons, Matt Ufford and Mike Cole. For Riccobono, Lyons and Ufford, the victory was the difference between a winning and losing record for Week 4 at 3-2 while Cole went 4-1, one of seven in the group to post that mark with none going 5-0. Two others who ended up 4-1 improved to 13-7 overall, as Ty Schalter and UFC ring girl Jhenny Andrade moved within one point of Schwab and Kirk for the overall lead.

It was a good week overall for the team, with 15 of the 25 members going 3-2 or better. Unfortunately, four members went 1-4, with two of them — Michaela Vernava (10-10) and Clay Travis (6-14) — hurt by the Redskins. In fact, the only member behind Travis in the team standings now is Ryan Fowler (4-15-1), who has gone 1-9 the past two weeks.
