Patriots Easily Top Consensus SuperContest Pick for Team OS in Week 11

Of the 25 members of Team OddsShark in the SuperContest at the Westgate SuperBook, 14 of them (56 percent) picked the New England Patriots (7-2) as 6.5-point favorites against the Oakland Raiders (4-5) in Sunday’s Week 11 matchup at Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. The Patriots were also the second-most popular play overall, selected by 1,086 of the record 2,748 entrants (40 percent) going for a record grand prize of more than $1.3 million this year. The top consensus pick by the masses was the Philadelphia Eagles (8-1) as 3.5-point road chalk visiting the Dallas Cowboys (5-4).

The Eagles were chosen by 1,306 contestants (48 percent) in Week 11, the second-highest total of any team all year and just the third time 1,000 was surpassed this season. Philadelphia was tied as the second-most popular pick for Team OddsShark too, selected nine times along with the Minnesota Vikings (7-2), who host the Los Angeles Rams (7-2) as 2-point home faves in a battle of two surprising division leaders.

Paulo Antunes and Ty Schalter are ranked first and second, respectively, in the group standings, and each of them has picked one of the top two consensus picks in Week 11. Antunes (aka Bossa Nova Kid) is rolling with New England while Schalter has Philadelphia on his five-pick card. Six members of the team have already picked up wins in Week 11 with the Pittsburgh Steelers as 7-point home favorites versus the Tennessee Titans in the Thursday Night Football matchup, including Antunes.

Pittsburgh routed Tennessee 40-17 to become the AFC’s first team with eight wins. The Steelers have won five in a row, and the Patriots can equal their win total with their sixth straight against the Raiders. Other members of the team who picked Pittsburgh include Jhenny Andrade, Frank Schwab, Pete Prisco, Will Brinson and Ryan Fowler. Brinson and Fowler are currently trying to escape the group cellar, as both are tied with 18.5 points. Jon Anik and Clay Travis are just ahead of them with 19 points apiece.
