Super Contest Week 12 Computer Picks

The computer was 7-7 ATS last week, but we managed to pick four losers out of five for our Westgate SuperContest picks.

At 1-4 ATS, the computer sank further in the standings and is still looking for its first 5-0 sweep of the season. Well, here it comes . . .

[ These Westgate odds are for contest purposes – the latest lines for betting can be found at other sportsbooks at Odds Shark including Bovada ]

Dallas -3.5 at NY Giants – computer says 28-18 Cowboys | Matchup

Dallas is perfect in its last eight post bye-week games when they play on the road (8-0 ATS, 6-2 SU). And with the second-best rushing game, the Cowboys should be able to feast on New York’s last-rated run defense.

The Cowboys have won and covered the last three meetings with the Giants, who are winless the past five times as a home underdog.

Miami +8 at Denver – computer says 30-30 tie | Matchup

The Dolphins own an 8-2 ATS edge against the Broncos going back many seasons and the Broncos looked terrible last week in losing to the Rams.

Denver boasts the top passing game, but Miami’s pass defense allows the second-fewest yards per pass.

We’re not convinced the Fins will win, but the computer says ‘pick em.’

Houston -1 at home to Cincinnati – computer says 25-22 Texans | Matchup

The Bengals looked good last week but they have been erratic since September. They are also 0-6 ATS against the Texans in recent years, including a pair of playoff losses. We play the small home chalk here.

Washington +9.5 at San Francisco – computer says 22-17 Niners | Matchup

Can a team that looked as bad as Washington rebound for a win in San Francisco? Of course not, but if the Niners take them lightly (and they should), they might sneak a cover.

That’s what the computer believes.

Tampa Bay +5.5 at Chicago – computer says 17-16 Bears | Matchup

Our latest instalment of Fade a Bad Favorite says to pick the Bucs over the Bears.

Tampa is 4-0 ATS in its past four road games while the Bears are 2-11-1 ATS at home over the past few seasons. Both teams won last week, the Bucs looked better and 5.5 points is a lot for a team like Chicago to manage.
