SuperContest Entrants Fading Cowboys in Making Ravens Top Consensus Play

If you have been picking the Dallas Cowboys (8-1) every week in the SuperContest at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, you would have nine winners and no losers. That’s because the Cowboys have covered the number in all nine of their games based on the static NFL lines on the SuperContest card. Dallas is also 8-0-1 against the spread based on the closing odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark, with the push coming in Week 1 when the New York Giants won 20-19 as 1-point road favorites. The Cowboys were +1.5 in the SuperContest and have won eight straight since then.

But in Week 11, many contestants think that Dallas is due for a loss, at least ATS. The Baltimore Ravens visit AT&T Stadium on Sunday as 7-point road underdogs and have had some extra time to prepare for the Cowboys after routing the winless Cleveland Browns 28-7 in the Week 10 Thursday Night Football matchup as 7.5-point home chalk. There are 596 entrants in the record field of 1,854 (32 percent) who selected the Ravens among their five NFL picks this week, making them the top consensus play.

However, that does not bode well for Baltimore’s chances of covering considering the Top 5 consensus NFL picks in the SuperContest are a dismal 15-33-2 ATS this season after going 0-5 for the third time last week. The other four most popular plays for Week 11 (in order) are the Miami Dolphins (5-4), Tennessee Titans (5-5), Minnesota Vikings (5-4) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-5). Like the Ravens, three of those four teams will be playing on the road (Miami, Tennessee and Tampa Bay) and two are underdogs (the Titans and Buccaneers). In addition, the Vikings are listed as a Pick’em hosting the Arizona Cardinals (4-4-1) in a battle of two of the league’s more disappointing teams.

Of the Top 5 consensus plays, members of Team OddsShark like Baltimore and Minnesota the most, with eight choosing each of them in Week 11. That includes Nick Kostos, who picked the Vikings and sat atop the group standings for most of the season until last week before falling into second place. Like Kostos, team leader Anthony Riccobono has only one of the Top 5 picks in the Titans, who visit the Indianapolis Colts (4-5) as 3-point road dogs.
