Team OddsShark Agrees With Top Consensus Pick in Week 6 of SuperContest

Team OddsShark and the masses both agree on the most popular play in Week 6 of the world-famous SuperContest at the Westgate SuperBook. The Pittsburgh Steelers won two meetings with the Kansas City Chiefs last season, including an 18-16 playoff victory in the Divisional Round on the road. The Steelers return to Arrowhead Stadium as 4.5-point road underdogs on Sunday and hope to extend their series winning streak to three.

So do 13 members of the team and 993 of the record 2,748 contestants overall. In reality, Pittsburgh just needs to lose by four points or less obviously to cover the spread. But many seem to believe running back Le’Veon Bell of the Steelers will run over Kansas City’s defense yet again and hand the home team its first loss. The Chiefs gave up 314 rushing yards to Bell in the two games last season, and they will need to figure out a way to stop him if they are going to remain the NFL’s lone unbeaten team.

More than half of Team OddsShark is banking on Pittsburgh, including defending group champion Frank Schwab, who has scored 17.5 points through the first five weeks. Right now, that total puts Schwab among the Top 50 overall and would earn him some prize money. Schwab’s other four NFL picks for Week 6 include the Cleveland Browns (+9.5), New England Patriots (-9), Detroit Lions (+5) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-2.5).

The team’s second-most popular play is the Los Angeles Chargers, who are 3.5-point road underdogs visiting the Oakland Raiders. Eight of the 25 members (32 percent) picked the Chargers off their 27-22 road win over the New York Giants last week. Four NFL teams tied for the group’s third-most popular play, with the Browns, Lions, New York Jets (+9) and Minnesota Vikings (+3) each selected seven times (28 percent).

The Jets host the Patriots and have gone 6-1-1 against the spread in the past eight meetings, according to the OddsShark NFL Database, despite losing six of them straight up. That is bad news for Schwab but good news for UFC ring girl Jhenny Andrade, who has picked them every week so far, covering three in a row.
