Team OddsShark Loves Bengals Against Bills in Week 5 of Super Contest

Team OddsShark has high hopes for the Cincinnati Bengals (1-3) in Week 5 of the world-famous Super Contest at the Westgate SuperBook despite the fact that they have been one of the biggest disappointments in 2017. Welcome to the NFL, where all it takes is one game to build back confidence and sway the public into believing again.

The Bengals are coming off a 31-7 rout of the Cleveland Browns last Sunday as 3-point road favorites, although they were the fifth-most popular play according to the Week 4 Top 5 consensus picks. Cincinnati ranks second overall for Week 5 and is the top pick of Team OddsShark, selected by 10 of the 25 members (40 percent). The Bengals were taken by 847 of the record 2,748 contestants (31 percent) overall, sitting behind only the Detroit Lions (3-1), who are tied for the NFC North lead with the Green Bay Packers.

Speaking of the Lions, they are finally getting the respect of contestants in the Super Contest in Week 5 following an impressive start that could very well have them as the lone unbeaten team in the league if wide receiver Golden Tate was a little taller. Tate fell short of the goal line on the potential game-winning touchdown in a 30-26 home loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 3, Detroit’s only blemish thus far. More than 1,000 entrants (1,053, to be exact) believe the Lions will cover the spread as 2.5-point home chalk versus the Carolina Panthers (3-1) off their upset victory at New England.

Detroit checks in as the third-most popular pick for Team OddsShark in Week 5 as well, chosen by eight of the 25 members to tie with the Los Angeles Chargers (0-4), who are visiting the New York Giants (0-4) as 3.5-point road dogs in a battle of winless teams. The group’s second-most popular play is the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1), who host the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-2) as 8-point home faves. The Steelers were picked nine times by the team and seem to have gotten back on track in a 26-9 rout of the Baltimore Ravens (2-2) after losing to the Chicago Bears (1-3) in overtime the previous week.
