Top Consensus Picks Winless Again in Week 10 But Team OddsShark Rebounds

It was another tough week for many in the record field of 1,854 entrants in the SuperContest at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, but Team OddsShark performed slightly better, led by the first 5-0 performance this season for OddsShark’s very own Jon Campbell. There was also a small shakeup atop the group standings, with Anthony Riccobono moving a half-point ahead of former leader Nick Kostos with a 3-2 mark.

“Jonny OddsShark” erased his 0-5 in Week 3 by picking five winners in Week 10 with the Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs, Tennessee Titans, Miami Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys. All of them closed as underdogs and won straight up, with four of them doing so away from home. The Texans were listed as 1.5-point road favorites on the Week 10 SuperContest card but closed as 2.5-point dogs before pulling off the 24-21 upset. Campbell is now tied for seventh in the Team OddsShark standings after sitting in 15th.

Meanwhile, Riccobono and Kostos have been battling for the top spot over the past month, with the former finally moving ahead of the latter for the first time. The two native New Yorkers have been tied for first in the group on two different occasions, and this is the first time all year Kostos has not held at least a share of the lead. Kostos started the season by going 11-4 the first three weeks but has since gone 15-18-2 in the last seven.

With 27.5 points out of 50 (55 percent), Riccobono is also just six points back of the overall leaders in the SuperContest who are vying for the grand prize of nearly $900,000. Five are currently tied for first in the SuperContest Standings after last week’s four co-leaders all suffered losing weeks. Two of them went 0-5 and another went 1-4.

The Top 5 consensus picks went 0-5 for the third time this season as well to drop to 15-33-2 overall compared with 27-21-2 through the first 10 weeks a year ago. Honorable mention for Team OddsShark goes to Kelly Stewart after she posted her second winning performance of 2016 at 4-1, one of 10 members to finish over .500 in Week 10. On another negative note, though, the Barstool Sports trio of Hank Lockwood (1-4), Dan Katz (0-5) and PFT Commenter (1-4) combined to go a dismal 2-13 on their NFL picks.
