Atlanta Hopes to Break Losing Streak as Favorite

The Atlanta Falcons are 0-5 SU and ATS in their last five games as a betting favorite. Being a favorite against Tampa Bay could help break this streak, however, as the favorite has gone 19-2 SU in the last 21 games between these two division rivals.

Value Non-existent for Cowboys Bettors in 2016

My first crack at writing this team betting preview came in mid-August and it focused on how any success the Cowboys have in 2016 was directly tied to Tony Romo’s health. Not long after, Romo broke a bone in his back and at press time it looks like Romo will be on the shelf for up to 10 weeks, which means the Dak Prescott era is upon us.

Moneyball Browns on a New Track in 2016

Let me preface this by saying, I know a lot of Browns’ fans so I’m allowed to say the things I’m about to say.

That said, if you came here for jokes like: “How do you keep a Cleveland Brown out of your yard?  Put up goalposts,” then you came to the wrong place. I like to pick on the Browns as much as the next guy but at some point, enough is enough. I am legitimately starting to feel bad for fans of this franchise who have seen 24 different starting quarterbacks since 1999 and I am having a hard time believing Robert Griffin III is the QB of the future.

2016 NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award Betting Odds

The NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award is given to a player that has shown perseverance in overcoming adversity. More often than not it means a player who was injured and played well in his return to the league.

And of course, you can bet on it.

Mariota & Company Have Pieces To Be Special

The Tennessee Titans went through a lot of effort to remake an offense that underwhelmed last season. The team traded for DeMarco Murray, spent yet another first-round pick on an offensive lineman and drafted Derrick Henry in the second round. New head coach Mike Mularkey has let it beknown that he wants to get back to smash-mouth football.

Health is Going to Be Key For Chargers in 2016

After posting consecutive nine-win seasons, the San Diego Chargers won only four games a year ago. The good news is the Bolts likely won’t be that bad again, but there’s no guarantee they’ll be that much better either.

The offense, which boasts quarterback Phillip Rivers, wide receiver Keenan Allen and running back Melvin Gordon, is very capable. The defense, however, hardly resembles an NFL unit. Expect teams to have big days against the woeful Chargers defense.

Future Bright For Jaguars, But Present May Be Dim

There is no doubt the Jacksonville Jaguars are a trendy pick to shock the NFL this season. The Jags’ offense is young, fast and has the potential to be one of the best in the NFL in the upcoming years. The front office has made plenty of investments on the defensive side  of the football – both in the draft and through free agency – that could finally pay off for defensive head coach Gus Bradley.

Odds on Kaepernick being a member of 49ers in Week 1

Colin Kaepernick

Preseason is typically a time for teams to sort out their depth charts, fantasy players to debate their rankings, and for Cowboys fans to throw away their money on a Super Bowl futures bet, but 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick got people talking when he refused to stand for the national anthem during a game on Friday vs the Packers.

Ravens are one of 2016’s Top Value Bets

The Baltimore Ravens are coming off their worst season since 2006 and their first losing season since John Harbaugh took over as head coach. This is an aging club that broke down due to injuries in 2015 as quarterback Joe Flacco missed six games and defensive leader Terrell Suggs tore his Achilles in the season opener and missed the rest of the season. Despite the majority of their core players being on the wrong side of 30, they’re a proven winner under Harbaugh when healthy and could be a sleeper team entering the 2016 season.

Fast Start Essential to Seahawks' Success in 2016

Since winning the Super Bowl two seasons ago the Seattle Seahawks have been on a slow downhill trajectory that’s seen them get a little bit worse each season. Anchored by head coach Pete Carroll and quarterback Russell Wilson, they’re still firmly in the mix as a Super Bowl contender, and might have a few legit excuses for not reaching their potential last season.
