Washington Redskins vs Carolina Panthers Odds

3-2TEAM RECORD1-5

Washington has covered four in a row against Carolina, but these may be two teams headed in opposite directions here on the Week 7 NFL betting menu.

The Panthers are exciting and 4-2 ATS, despite their 1-5 SU mark. They are also 4-0 ATS in their past four home games. Washington was exposed as a bit of a phony in its home loss to Philly but they are 4-0 ATS in their past four road games.

Interestingly, the past eight times Carolina has been favored, the game has gone UNDER the total. And the Redskins were on a 6-0 ATS run as an underdog before their loss last week.

Opening Lines: Lions favored vs. Falcons

With the Detroit Lions picking up their first loss of the season last week, the Green Bay Packers stand alone as the NFL’s last remaining undefeated team. The Packers head to Minnesota this week, while the Detroit Lions will try to bounce back at home against the Atlanta Falcons.

TopBet currently lists the Lions as a 3.5-point favorite over the Falcons. Detroit’s loss to San Francisco last week was the first time they’d lost ATS in 10 games, as they are now 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11. Atlanta is 2-5 ATS in their last seven games.

Jets vs Dolphins in AFC East tilt

Miami comes off a bye week to face the division-rival New York Jets, a team they have beaten ATS the past three times (all as an underdog).

The Dolphins are 5-2 ATS in their past seven post-bye games on the road and that is the situation on the Monday Night odds menu where the roadies open as 9-point underdogs. Miami is winless SU and ATS so far in 2011.

Patriots heavy chalk vs Cowboys

New England heads into a bye week by hosting the Dallas Cowboys, a team that has benefitted from an extra week of rest and practice.

Dallas has been solid for bettors in this situation, going 5-1 ATS in the past 6 seasons following a bye week. And they are getting 7.5 points early in the week from oddsmakers.

Once again, the OVER could be the play where the Pats are concerned. In 20 recent games as a favorite, the OVER prevailed 17 times.

Think the Patriots will score more than 30 points again? Bovada has odds posted on that in their NFL props section, check it out among hundreds of other fun wagers that can turn a profit.

Eagles Have Dominated at Washington

Philadelphia plays with its season on the line, visiting the Washington Redskins as small road underdogs.

It's a battle of one team coming off a bye week (Redskins) and another team headed for their bye week (Eagles) and Philly certainly has more motivation in this one.

The Eagles have dominated here, going 9-2 SU in their past 11 trips to Washington, However, the Eagles 3-8 ATS in the past 11 seasons before their bye week.

The big concern here again for Eagle bettors is turnovers - Philly leads the league in giveaways at 3 per game.

Lions host 49ers in Week 6 action

The Lions are 5-0 and the 49ers are coming off a 48-3 victory - something crazy is going on with the NFL these days.

Past trends may not mean much given the resurgence of both franchises this year, but if they do, this is a game the 49ers will win. They have beaten the Lions seven straight since 1996, with none of those games going OVER the total (6-0-1 favoring the UNDER).

Detroit is now on a 9-0-1 ATS run while San Francisco, which heads into a bye week, has also been reliable with bettors' cash, going 5-0-1 ATS in their past six outings.

Contest Winner Turns $1000 Into $4300

If you gave your financial advisor $1,000 and one month later he turned it into $4,300, you’d be a pretty happy investor.

That’s what Deuceswild2652 was able to do in the first NFL Bankroll Contest here at OddsShark.com, earning him top spot in the standings and qualifying for $200 from sponsor Bodog.

Five other NFL pickers managed to turn their initial $1,000 amount into at least $3,000.

Vikings tackle Bears in Week 6 odds

The Vikings finally got in the win column in Week 5 but will be hard-pressed to make it two straight in Chicago, a place they have not been kind to bettors in recent years.

Minnesota is 1-6-1 ATS in its past eight trips to Chicago. However, they have the benefit of catching the Bears on short rest after they lost to the Lions on Monday Night.
