Rams Huge Home Underdogs in Week 8

Expect one of the biggest point spreads in recent memory when the Saints Rams line is posted this week.

Fresh off a 62-7 thrashing of the Colts, the Saints get to try to top that against one of the league's other winless teams. The Rams lost again and are now 0-6, joining the Colts and Dolphins as loser franchises of 2011.

Of note, the OVER is 15-4-1 the past 20 times these franchises have met at St. Louis.

Jaguars vs Texans Betting Preview

The Jaguars come off their Monday Nighter on short rest, but look ahead to their bye in Week 9.

The Jaguars offense was terrible against the Ravens but their defense was stout in the victory. In the past six seasons, the Jags are 5-1 ATS with 5 of those games going OVER the total before a bye week.

Cowboys vs Eagles in Week 8 contest

The Philadelphia Eagles have traditionally used their bye week to come out charged up to win and play tough defense.

As they host Dallas in Week 8 NFL odds action, they bring an 8-2 ATS in the past decade after a bye week and the UNDER is 9-2 past 11 years. The Cowboys have won four of the past six trips to Philly.

The Eagles opened as 3-point home favorites in this Sunday Night battle, but many expect that number to climb during the week.

Broncos host Lions in Week 8 line

These are new-look Lions but will they revert to their old ways heading into their bye week?

Detroit visits Denver and the formerly woeful Lions were 1-6 ATS in their past 7 seasons before BYE. They visit a Bronco team that rallied against the Dolphins behind Tim Tebow last week.

Detroit has won five straight road games and is 6-2-1 ATS in nine games on the highway going back to last season. Denver on the other hand has a significant home OVER trend (11-2 past 13 at home). [ Best NFL player props - check out Bovada ]

Caldwell NFL Coach Hot Seat Odds

Indianapolis started the season with playoff expectations and Super Bowl aspirations.

It all unravelled as Peyton Manning’s neck injury unravelled in training camp. Now instead of shooting for a repeat of their 14-0 start a few years back and being mentioned in Super Bowl XLVI odds, the Colts are subject to humiliating odds.

NFL Line Moves: Pats vs. Steelers

This week most of the lines on the NFL betting board have stayed fairly put with only four games seeing line movements of a full point or more. That said, each of those four games are some of this week’s most interesting matchups.

Here’s a look at those games that have had line movements of one point or more.

NFL Injury Report: RBs on the Shelf

The NFL may be a passing league these days, but most teams still need a solid running back to set up the play action and keep opposing defenses honest. Up to five teams could be without their starting running back this week.

NFL Matchup - Bills Redskins Odds Preview

The Buffalo Bills hit the bye on a sour note but hope to sweeten the results against the Washington Redskins coming out of it.

Historically, they have done just that, going 7-2-1 ATS past 10 seasons after BYE week. And they have traditionally owned the Redskins going 5-0 SU and ATS against them since 1993.

Both teams started quickly but have hit the skids a bit. Buffalo gets a 5.5-point opening number to cover at Rogers Center in Toronto.

Colts open as underdog vs Titans

The two biggest blowout victims of Week 7 hook up in Week 8 in what could be dubbed the Stupor Bowl.

The Colts were obliterated 62-7 in New Orleans while the Titans were hammered 41-7 at home by the Houston Texans.

So how bad is Indy that they opened as double-digit underdogs? Pretty bad - as in, copy-the-Lions-0-16-record bad.

Trends typically go out the window in this type of season but the Titans were 7-3 ATS in 10 games vs the Colts with Peyton Manning. They are 4-1 ATS past 5 at home vs the Colts.

Giants Lay 11 Points vs Miami

The New York Giants come out of a bye week in good shape, facing one three winless teams in the NFL, the Miami Dolphins.

The Fins led late but were bitten in the ass by former Gator Tim Tebow, who rallied his Broncos past Miami. The Dolphins are now 0-6 SU and ATS on the year.

These teams have only played five times since 1980 and each game went UNDER the total. It could happen again as the Dolphins have played 5 straight UNDERs and 9 of 11 road games.
