Nover: Taylor Prop Didn't Quite Pay Out

It's a strong statement, but I'll go ahead and make it: Tyrod Taylor is more dangerous than Cam Newton. Both quarterbacks are highly mobile, excellent runners. Taylor gets the edge because he has superior skill position weapons.

Before preseason you wouldn't dare to make a Newton-Taylor comparison without getting laughed out of the room. Few could envision Taylor beating out veteran Matt Cassel and former Bills No. 1 draft pick EJ Manuel for the starting spot. Many thought Taylor wouldn't even make the team let alone be named the starter.

Manziel, Mariota, Winston QB Prop Bets

The Johnny Manziel era in Cleveland might have started last week, when Josh McCown suffered a concussion. With the possibility that Manziel is the new signal caller for the Browns, Bovada has released a bunch of props for the sophomore quarterback.

After stepping under center in the final moments of the first quarter in Week 1, Manziel threw for 182 yards with one touchdown and one interception. The happy-footed quarterback also rushed for 35 yards on five carries.

NFL Week 2 Expert Betting Odds Picks

Hold off the Chip Kelly Hall of Fame talk.

Kelly's coaching reputation took a hit following Monday's road upset loss to Atlanta in which the Eagles played flat for a half and 2014 rushing leader DeMarco Murray ran for a mere nine yards. Those are on Kelly.

I do see the Eagles, though, bouncing back at home against Dallas winning by at least a touchdown.

Brady vs Brees: 400th Touchdown Prop

Two of the greatest quarterbacks of this generation are creeping toward the 400-TD milestone and one is favored to get there faster than the other.

Drew Brees has 397 touchdowns, while Tom Brady currently stands at 396, but online sportsbook Bovada has Brees favored as a -250 moneyline wager. Brady is the underdog at +170 (meaning a $100 bet turns out a $170 profit).

Peyton Manning: Week 2 Fantasy Odds

Peyton Manning’s Week 1 performance was not only a disappointment for Denver Broncos fans, but for fantasy football teams around the country as well.

Manning’s sub-par start to the season has not overly affected his projected fantasy value, however, with Bovada listing the over/under total for his Week 2 fantasy points at 19 for this week at Yahoo. Denver plays in Kansas City on Thursday night.

NFL Week 2 Betting Trends Analysis

Tyrod Taylor outplayed Andrew Luck in helping the Bills roll past the Colts at home, 27-14, last Sunday. Can Taylor now beat Tom Brady and visiting New England?

History says no. The Patriots have owned this series under Bill Belichick winning 21 of the last 23 meetings. New England also has covered in nine of their last 11 road games versus Buffalo.

Houston Texans coach Bill O'Brien doesn't want to tip his hand about which quarterback he's going to start at Carolina on Sunday, either Brian Hoyer or Ryan Mallet.

Broncos 5-0 SU & 4-1 ATS Run vs Chiefs

The Denver Broncos are 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS in their last five games against the Kansas City Chiefs and 12-0 SU and 11-1 ATS in the past four seasons in divisional road games as those rivals prepare to meet on Thursday night this week.

Peyton Manning has especially enjoyed going head-to-head with the Chiefs secondary during his tenure with the Broncos. In four starts against the Chiefs since joining Denver Manning has completed 62.3 percent of his passes while throwing for 11 touchdowns and two interceptions.

The Broncos will need to contain Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce on Thursday, as he went off in Week 1 for Kansas City; Kelce caught six passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns as the Chiefs beat the Houston Texans.

The Kansas City Chiefs sport a record of 1-0 and 1-0 ATS heading into this betting matchup, while the Denver Broncos sit at 1-0 and 1-0 ATS on the season. The over under totals records are 1-0 for the Chiefs and 0-1 for the Broncos.

Jacksonville Jaguars Open as Week 2 Betting Underdogs vs Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins have only been a road favorite of seven or more points on four occasions since the 1995 season, with the Dolphins going 4-0 SU while covering twice in those games. The Dolphins will be big betting faves when they visit the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

Miami was hoping for a bigger immediate impact from their defense in Week 1 after signing Ndamukong Suh to a $114 million contract this offseason, but the Dolphins' front seven managed just two sacks and two tackles for a loss.

Meanwhile, it's another season but the same old Jaguars. Jacksonville continues to struggle to hold on to the ball as quarterback Blake Bortles threw two interceptions and Allen Hurns lost a fumble in the team's Week 1 loss to Carolina.

The Miami Dolphins will try to spoil to the party on Sunday; they are 1-0 ATS against the spread this season, while the Jacksonville Jaguars are 0-1 ATS. Miami is 0-1 on the over under betting totals; Jacksonville is 0-1.

Week 2 NFL Betting Odds with Pick - Baltimore Ravens vs Oakland Raiders

The OVER has cashed out for totals bettors at the sportsbooks in each of the past four Oakland Raiders games dating back to Week 15 of last season. The Raiders will host the Baltimore Ravens, who are coming off a poor offensive performance, on Sunday.

Over their past four games the Raiders have allowed an average of 33.75 points per game. Quarterback Derek Carr left the team's Week 1 game with a hand injury but had his x-rays come back negative, which is a good sign.

Week 1 was a week to forget for the Ravens as Joe Flacco threw two interceptions and Justin Forsett averaged just 3.1 yards per rush in a loss to Denver. The Ravens defense, though, was causing issues for the Broncos as they registered four sacks while scoring a pick six.

The Oakland Raiders are 0-1 so far on the season, and 0-1 ATS vs the point spread. The Baltimore Ravens, meanwhile, are 0-1 and 0-1 ATS. Those over under betting have seen Oakland go 1-0 and the Baltimore Ravens go 0-1 on the totals.
