Bills and Dolphins: Opposite ATS Trends

The Buffalo Bills are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games while the Miami Dolphins are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games as those AFC East rivals meet down in Florida in Week 3 betting action.

Both teams are 1-1 both SU and ATS so far this season, with the Bills upsetting Indianapolis then losing to New England, and the Dolphins getting past Washington then falling to Jacksonville.

Totals bettors have watched the UNDER pay out at the sportsbooks in four of the last five Bills vs. Dolphins matchups, although the OVER has been the correct wager in Miami's last five games at home in September.

Miami bring a 1-1 record (1-1 ATS) to the Week 3 betting matchup against the 1-1 Buffalo Bills, who are 1-1 ATS against the spread. Over under betting has seen Miami go 1-1 so far and the Bills go 1-1.

UNDER 6-1 Falcons Last Seven on Road

The Atlanta Falcons have been money when they hit the road as the UNDER has cashed in six of their past seven away from the Georgia Dome. The Falcons will take to the road once again in Week 3 when they visit the Dallas Cowboys.

The Falcons are an unassuming 2-0 SU this season, with a combined margin of victory of a mere six points. But, not surprisingly, the offense has gone through wide receiver Julio Jones who has averaged 138 yards per game and accounted for a league-leading 14 first downs.

The Cowboys will turn to backup quarterback Brandon Weeden with Tony Romo out for nearly two months. Weeden went a perfect 7-of-7 with a touchdown in relief duties in Week 2.

The Atlanta Falcons will look to cover ATS vs their hosts on Sunday, as they are 2-0 ATS versus the spread this season, while the Dallas Cowboys are 1-1 ATS. Atlanta is 0-2 against the over under total, while Dallas is 1-1 versus the number.

The Dallas Cowboys didn't waste much time on tears and pity after Tony Romo went down with a broken collarbone. The Cowboys went to the junk yard trading for Matt Cassel.

Brees Out, McCown In For Saints at QB

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has been ruled out of Sunday's matchup with the Carolina Panthers due to a bruised rotator cuff in his throwing shoulder, head coach Sean Payton announced Friday.

Journeyman QB Luke McCown will get the nod under center in place of Brees. In light of the news, [5dimes-link] has adjusted the Saints from +3 all the way to +9.5.

McCown will be needing to shake off some serious rust, as the 34-year-old has not started an NFL game since Sept. 2011. The signal caller only has nine career starts to his name which has seen his teams go 2-7 ATS during that span.

The absence of Brees on a Sunday will be a rarity for Saints bettors. Since signing with the team as a free agent in 2006, the Purdue product has not missed a game due to injury.

Betting fans of the Carolina Panthers have seen them go 2-0 and 2-0 ATS so far this season, while the New Orleans Saints are at 0-2 and 0-2 ATS. In over under totals betting, the New Orleans Saints are 1-1, while the Carolina Panthers are 0-2.

UNDER 7-1 Past 8 Bengals Road Games

Offense has been hard to come by for the Cincinnati Bengals when they pack their bags with the team going UNDER in seven of their past eight on the road. The Bengals start their AFC North schedule when they visit the Baltimore Ravens Sunday.

The Bengals struggled mightily to score on the road at the end of last year as they averaged just 12.5 points per game in their final four games away from Cincy last season.

The Ravens are coming into Week 3 after dropping their first two contests by a combined 10 points. Quarterback Joe Flacco has been inconsistent this season with two touchdowns and three interceptions.

The Baltimore Ravens sport a record of 0-2 and 0-2 ATS heading into this betting matchup, while the Cincinnati Bengals sit at 2-0 and 2-0 ATS on the season. The over under totals records are 1-1 for the Ravens and 1-1 for the Bengals.

Eagles 5-1 ATS in Last Six Against Jets

The Eagles will be looking for their first win of the season this week against a Jets team they have a history of dominating. The Eagles are 6-0 SU and 5-1 ATS in their last six games against the Jets, but just 1-5 SU and ATS in their last six games overall.

The Jets have struggled in their last 11 games against the NFC East, going 2-9 SU and 2-8-1 ATS. In their first home game of the season the Jets were efficient on both sides of the ball, beating Cleveland 31-10.

The Eagles are coming off of a lackluster effort against a depleted Cowboys team, and Chip Kelly will look to establish his up tempo offense after putting up only 226 total yards in Dallas.

This season the New York Jets are 2-0 overall and 2-0 ATS against the spread, while the Eagles are 0-2 and 0-2 ATS. As for the totals, New York is 1-1 on the OU, and Philadelphia is 0-2.

Nover: NFL Survivor Pools on Life Support

This Sunday is going to have a different feel for millions of NFL bettors. They are the ones who already have been eliminated from various survivor pools and contests courtesy of the New Orleans Saints losing as double-digit home favorites to Tampa Bay last week.

Survivor, or knockout pools, grow in popularity every year. The format is simple: Pick one team to win straight-up. Lose once and you're out. The trick is you have to use a different team each week. You can't play the same team twice in a season.

Nover: Browns QBs and NFL Win Totals

Those who wagered over 6 1/2 wins on the Cleveland Browns season win total are happy with the decision. They like that Browns coach Mike Pettine is benching Johnny Manziel for veteran Josh McCown.

McCown suffered a concussion opening week, but has been cleared to play against Oakland at home on Sunday. Oddsmakers consider McCown worth one-half to one point better than Manziel.

I think the decision is short-sighted.

Super Bowl 50 Matchup Betting Odds

It's too early to fully decipher the contenders from the pretenders in the young NFL season, but it's no surprise to see the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots as the betting favorites to meet in Super Bowl 50 next February.

Week 3 NFL Betting: Andrew Luck Odds

Since he stormed onto the NFL scene as a rookie in 2012, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has emerged as one of the top players in the game at his position. But through two weeks in the 2015 NFL season, the Stanford product hasn't looked anything like his usual self.

In losing efforts to the Bills and Jets, Luck has thrown three touchdowns for 493 yards but has also tossed five interceptions. The 26-year-old has a completion percentage of just 54.7 and a league worst 58.9 quarterback rating during that span.
