Matchups are finally set for UFC 127 and a lot is on the line for MMA legend B.J. Penn. The betting line on a Penn upset has moved a bit over the last couple of weeks, but not in the direction towards a Penn upset.
The best price now on Penn beating Jon Fitch is a +175 line at 5Dimes. Bovada still has the cheapest price on the favorite Fitch at -200.

Jon Fitch wants to prove to everyone that he’s one of the best fighters in the world, and he’ll get an opportunity at UFC 127 to potentially send a legend into early retirement. That legend is B.J. Penn, and he will be looking to take a big step up the Welterweight ladder with a win over another top-ranked 170 pounder.

Antonio Silva may have been a +350 underdog on the MMA odds against Fedor Emelianenko on Saturday night, but instead of being out-classed he showed the world that the Last Emperor is no longer one of the best in the Heavyweight division.

All those MMA bettors that thought Anderson Silva’s best days were beyond him got a reality check on Saturday night when “The Spider” flicked out one of his long legs and left Vitor Belfort laying unconscious on the Octagon floor.

The UFC 126 fight card has a few upset opportunities for savvy MMA bettors, but the best edge is on the Rich Franklin vs. Forrest Griffin line. Even though the MMA betting line at 5Dimes is only +145 on Griffin, he will be bigger, stronger, and far more motivated than the former Middleweight champion Franklin.

Strikeforce thought Welterweight champion Nick Diaz would have a tough time with top contender Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos, but it was just another day at the office for Diaz and his stiff jab.
The Bovada MMA betting lines had the Strikeforce Welterweight champion as a heavy -340 favorite against Santos (18-14), but it did not look like he was the favorite for most of the first round. Diaz (24-7-1) took numerous hard leg kicks from Cyborg and looked to be suffering the effects by the end of the first round.
