The UFC returns to pay-per-view this weekend with the latest title defense for Anderson Silva at UFC 117: Silva vs. Sonnen.
MMA fans will hope they get a better fight this weekend then they got the last time Silva stepped into the octagon at UFC 112. Silva made his sixth UFC Middleweight championship title defense and came away with a unanimous decision victory over Demien Maia.

Take a look at any mixed martial arts rankings of the Top 10 pound-for-pound fighters in the world and most if not all of them will have UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva at No. 1. “The Spider” has won 12 fights in a row – last loss in January 2006 to Yushin Okami - and all 11 of his UFC bouts.

Brock Lesnar makes his long-awaited return to the octagon this weekend when he puts his UFC Heavyweight championship on the line versus Shane Carwin at UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin.
When Lesnar steps into the octagon on Saturday night almost a year will have passed since his last fight. Injuries and illness have caused a number of the UFC Heavyweight champion's fights to be postponed, including a prior matchup with Carwin at UFC 106.

Strikeforce puts their top draw on display this weekend when Fedor Emelianenko returns to the ring to face Fabricio Werdum at Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Werdum.
As always Fedor is heavily favored in Saturday night's bout. “The Last Emperor” is a -650 favorite at Bovada in the fight as he tries to extend his winning streak to 12. Fedor's last fight was at Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers in November. He faced then-undefeated Brett Rogers and handed him his first defeat by TKO in the second round.
