Bovada has released odds on individual players making the cut, with 25 names available to wager on.

Masters Trends

The old adage of history repeating itself has rung true time and time again in the sports world. So when examining the field for this year’s Masters, it’s useful to look back at the past to try to project who’s going to slip on the green jacket on Sunday.

For starters, it’s worth noting that this tournament is clearly a young man’s game, as each of the last 11 champions were under the age of 40 at the time of winning. At the green age of 21, Jordan Spieth became the second-youngest player ever to emerge triumphant at Augusta National in 2015.

Newcomers dominated the 2015-16 PGA Tour season, as first-time major winners Danny Willett (Masters), Dustin Johnson (U.S. Open), Henrik Stenson (Open Championship) and Jimmy Walker (PGA Championship) cleaned up on golf’s biggest stage.

Johnson and Stenson have been in the top tier for quite some time, but the triumphs of Willett and Walker caught many people by surprise – including sportsbooks. Willett was +3300 when the Masters began, while Walker’s PGA Championship odds were a staggeringly high +12500 on the tournament’s first day.

This year’s winner was Russell Henley, who cashed at a profitable +2800 for bettors. Henley did not participate in the 2016 Masters but finished in 21st place at Augusta in 2015.
