WSOP: 2015 November Nine Odds Set

The WSOP’s Main Event will pick up again on November 8 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas after the original field of 6,420 entrants was whittled down to just nine.

WSOP '15 Lowest Top Prize in 10 Years

A decrease in entrants and increase in payouts for the 2015 World Series of Poker has led to the lowest top prize in 10 years. The WSOP had 6,420 entrants this year, down 263 poker players from 2014 but still 68 more than participated in the 2013 tournament.

The 2015 WSOP is also paying out 15.5 percent of the total field compared to 10 percent previously, meaning the top 1,000 players will end up getting some money back. This change had led to first place being worth $7,680,021, which is still a nice haul for the player who survives with the most chips at the final table.

World Series of Poker Betting Odds 2014

October has reached its midway point and that means that the November Nine will soon be seated to play out the final table of the 2014 WSOP Main Event. On the line for the winner will be a $10 million first-place prize and the coveted championship bracelet.

WSOP Odds: Chip leader Tran favored

Betting on the November Nine WSOP final table is not a typical form of action for online sports bettors.

Unlike a professional sports team bet or a mixed martial arts option, wagering on November Nine odds should be treated like betting on a race.

Any online bettor who likes to wager on horse racing or NASCAR knows how to play action on their race picks. Deciding which player to wager on in the November Nine can be compared, in many ways, to how one would choose a horse to win a graded stakes race. A couple of different factors should be considered.

Runner Runner: Q&A Antonio Esfandiari

The poker community is awaiting the highly-anticipated release of the newest poker-themed movie called Runner Runner and interviewed poker legend Antonio Esfandiari, who was involved in shooting for the upcoming flick. Here's what he had to say about the film.

The movie paints a worst-case scenario of the online poker industry with Ben Affleck cast as the uber-villain, who rules an online poker empire with an iron fist (and a man-eating crocodile).

WSOP Final Table: Odds Stacked

The World Series of Poker November Nine has been set, but the last man cut nearly paid off big-time for WSOP bettors.

2001 Main Event champ Carlos Mortensen finished 10th, just missing out on becoming the first man since Dan Harrington in 2004 to return to the Main Event as a past champion.

Online sportsbook Bovada had posted 7/1 odds on any former champion making the Final Table. So oddsmakers were sweating it out, risking a hefty payout if The Matador made it through.

World Series of Poker Odds: 2013

With a field estimated at 7,000 entrants when the 2013 World Series of Poker Main Event starts up this summer, sportsbooks are in no position to set odds on individual players.

But they are already offering odds on general betting opportunities, such as the age of the winner, the quality of the winning hand and whether a woman can make the Final Table for the first time since 1995.

World Series of Poker Final Table Odds

If the final day of the World Series of Poker proved anything, it was that big stacks don’t always win.

The two chip leaders on Day 6 – Marc-Andre Ladouceur and Daniel Strelitz – each busted out and failed to make the final table.

So just because Jesse Sylvia sits comfortably as the big stack for the November Nine, don’t expect everyone to bet on him at 3/1 odds.
