Twitter IPO odds: NYSE vs NASDAQ

Twitter's planned IPO (initial public offering) has created tons of buzz and, not surprisingly, plenty of Twitter action.

But which exchange will the mega-microblogging site get listed on? Will Twitter go public before or after December 1?

As always, when the public is wondering, sportsbooks are offering odds on it. Today, online sportsbook Bovada offered numerous props on the pending Twitter IPO.

Pageant Betting: Miss America Odds

Miss Kansas might be getting all the ink, but it's Miss Oklahoma who sits as the favorite at the sportsbooks to win the Miss America pageant at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey on Sunday night.

Miss Oklahoma is the 13/2 favorite at Bovada to claim the crown this weekend, with Miss Florida, Miss Georgia, and Miss Mississippi all at 12/1 odds, and Miss Kansas joining Miss Minnesota, Miss New Hampshire, and Miss South Carolina at 15/1 odds.

Betting the ESPYs

Johnny Manziel, the first freshman ever to win the Heisman Trophy, appears to be a lock to win the ESPY for Best Male College Athlete over a field of relative unknowns. However, the most value in betting the ESPYs might be found in the Best MLB Player category.

Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest Odds

True to his word, Joey Chestnut proved to be top dog in the Nathans Hot Dog contest.

And after tweeting Wednesday night to that the betting line of 63.5 was low, he hinted that the OVER 63.5 was a 'safe bet.'

Indeed, he won the contest Thursday afternoon in New York, guzzling 69 hot dogs in 10 minutes to win the July 4 event for the seventh straight time.

Joey Chestnut is once again pegged as the huge favorite at the sportsbooks to win the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest at Coney Island on the Fourth of July.

American Idol Betting Odds Preview

Candice Glover is favored over Kree Harrison at the sportsbooks to pay out on the American Idol betting odds this month as Season 12 of the singing competition comes to a close.

Glover is the 5/9 favorite at Bovada over the 7/5 Harrison with the finals of the show on tap for this week. A female hasn't won American Idol since Jordin Sparks back in Season 6.

Academy Awards: 2013 Oscar Odds

Lincoln has received the most Academy Awards nominations this year, but it's no longer the favorite on the Oscar odds at the sportsbooks to win the Best Picture category at the 85th edition of the ceremony on Sunday, February 24.

Lincoln scored 12 nominations and sits at 5/1 on the odds to win Best Picture at Bovada - putting it now behind Argo (1/7) but ahead of Silver Linings Playbook (25/1), Les Miserables (50/1), Life of Pi (50/1), Django Unchained (50/1), Zero Dark Thirty (66/1), Amour (100/1), and Beasts of the Southern Wild (100/1).

Sportsbooks offer new Pope odds

The Pope has quit his post for the first time since the 1400s, leaving online sportsbooks to scramble to get odds up on the next man to be elected as the leader of the Catholic church.

And at Bovada the opening favorite on the odds to be the next Pope is Marc Ouellet, who sits at 7/2 on that list. Ouellet is the head of the Congregation of Bishops, and formerly held the post of Archbishop of Quebec.

2013 Grammy Odds Hit Sportsbooks

Kelly Clarkson vs. Taylor Swift is just one of the battles on tap for this weekend as the sportsbooks offer up their odds to win the Grammys, with the annual music awards show getting underway at 9:00pm ET on CBS on Sunday night.

Kate Middleton Baby Odds

The next heir to the British throne is on its way, and the sportsbooks are already offering odds on the gender, name, hair color, and birth weight of the first child for Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Both 'boy' and 'girl' are listed at -110 at Bovada for the gender of the royal couple's first child, while 'brown' is the 3/2 favorite for the baby's hair color. You can also choose 'blonde' (2/1), 'black' (7/2), and 'red' (4/1) on that prop wager at the books.

U.S. Presidential Odds: Dems Favorites

Heading into the second presidential debate of the U.S. election Barack Obama and the Democratic Party are still in the lead on the odds at the online sportsbooks, but Mitt Romney and the Republican Party have been catching up over the past few weeks.

"Obama's massive lead has slowly dwindled to a close horse race, especially after the last debate dropping from -500 to -210 going into tonight’s much anticipated debate," said Bovada sportsbook manager Kevin Bradley.
