Colts-Texans TNF Running Back Props

Indianapolis Colts running back Frank Gore

Ryan Mallett squaring off against Matt Hasselback doesn’t present the most attractive quarterback matchup for Thursday Night Football’s Indianapolis Colts-Houston Texans tilt, but if you’re looking for some alternative betting options, online sportsbook Bovada is offering some prop specials for the men controlling the ground game.

NFL Week 5 Expert Betting Odds Picks

I've never been a Joe Flacco fan. He's a middle-of-the-pack quarterback. Baltimore's once-feared defense isn't intimidating these days either minus Ray Lewis, Ed Reed and Terrell Suggs.

So I'll get behind Cleveland taking 6 1/2 points at Baltimore.

The Browns are feisty, have a solid offensive line and good secondary. Their skill position players are improving. Travis Benjamin will be the most dangerous player on the field. He has five all-purpose touchdowns.

TNF: Colts vs Texans Week 5 NFL Odds

The AFC South hasn’t been the most exciting division in the NFL this season, but fans and bettors alike will be hoping the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans can put on a better show in Thursday Night Football.

Thanks to a 16-13 overtime victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday, the Colts hold the division lead with a mediocre 2-2 SU record. The Tennessee Titans are second at 1-2, while the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Texans are bringing up the rear at 1-3 SU.

Indy was forced to start veteran signal caller Matt Hasselbeck in Week 3 due to a shoulder injury to star QB Andrew Luck and Hasselbeck filled in admirably. The 40-year-old finished the game 30-of-47 for 282 yards and a touchdown in the victory. The team hasn’t named their starter for Thursday’s game, but are indicating that Luck will be back behind center.

Houston is just 1-3 ATS at the betting window so far in the young NFL campaign and the Colts have been even worse going 0-4 ATS.

Since its inception in 2006, the Colts are undefeated in Thursday Night Football despite playing every game away from Indianapolis.

SN: NFL Week 5 Betting Trends Analysis

Unbeaten Cincinnati should bury Seattle, which has a struggling offensive line and is traveling on a short week having just hosted Detroit on Monday night.

Or should the Bengals? Cincinnati is 16-2-1 in its last 19 home games, 15-3-1 against the spread (ATS).

Impressive, but. Seattle is underrated away from boisterous CenturyLink Field covering 15 of its past 23 road contests. The Seahawks also are 11-3 ATS on the road when meeting an opponent with a winning home mark.

The year was 2001. It was not a good time to be a Dallas Cowboys fan.

Troy Aikman was released and then retired before that season began. The Cowboys tried four different starting quarterbacks, including Ryan Leaf. Overmatched Dave Campo was the head coach. The team went 5- 11.

It also was the last time the Cowboys were this big of home underdogs. Face rested New England without Tony Romo and Dez Bryant and it's understandable that the Patriots are eight-point favorites against the Cowboys.

GB Looks to Continue Home Dominance

The St. Louis Rams face the unenviable task of taking on the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in Week 5 NFL action.

Green Bay has rattled off 11 straight victories (including the playoffs) at the storied stadium – the longest active home winning streak in the league.

Even without superstar wide receiver Jordy Nelson the Packers haven’t missed a beat in 2015. Aaron Rodgers and company are a perfect 4-0 SU and ATS through at the quarter mark of the season.

The Rams are coming off an impressive road win over the red-hot Arizona Cardinals and have made a habit of cashing Unders away from the Edward Jones Dome. St. Louis is 9-13 O/U in its last 14 clashes on the road.

The big story in this game is going to be offense. Green Bay’s high-flying offense is especially lights out at Lambeau, while the Rams are the worst offensive team in the league, ranking 28th in passing and 23rd in rushing.

Raiders vs Broncos Week 5 NFL Odds

The Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders are trending in opposite directions when it comes to cashing spread tickets ahead of their Week 5 matchup.

Denver (3-1 ATS) comes in as one of the top ATS teams in the league through four weeks, while Oakland (1-3 ATS) finds itself as one of the worst bets in the league despite showing promise as a young team on the rise.

If the Raiders are going to have any shot in this game they’re going to have to step up in a big way on defense. The silver and black are 31st in the league in total defense.

Denver hasn’t had any issues in that department, however. The Von Miller-led Broncos are the top defensive team in the NFL entering Week 5.

Denver has had the edge in a big way when the teams have met, going 7-0 SU and 6-1 ATS in their last seven clashes against Oakland.

NFL Week 5: 49ers On Ugly ATS Skid

Times are tough in San Francisco, but the 49ers will try to turn things around in the Big Apple Sunday versus the New York Giants.

As was predicted by many experts before the season began, the 49ers have had a tough time following one of the worst offseasons in NFL history, and are 1-3 SU and ATS with a quarter of the season elapsed.

Dating back to last season, the 49ers are a paltry 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games.

In what’s been one of the NFL’s most mediocre divisions, the Giants are tied for first place in the NFC East with Dallas and Washington at 2-2 SU. The G-Men have fared well at the betting window, going 3-1 ATS in the young season.

Steelers-Chargers MNF Betting Preview

The Pittsburgh Steelers, one of the best bets in the NFL through four weeks, get the primetime treatment in the Week 5 edition of Monday Night Football opposite the San Diego Chargers.

Without Ben Roethlisberger in the fold due to a knee injury, Michael Vick was tasked with leading the charge for the Steelers but came up just short against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4.

The Chargers haven’t put up much of a fight against the Steelers in recent years, something that’s translated at the betting window.  Pittsburgh is 8-2 SU and 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings between the two clubs.

San Diego has the third best offense in the NFL, but will need to step up on D in this one. The Bolts are allowing an average of 27.5 points per game compared to Pittsburgh’s much more respectable average of 18.5.

Cards Historically Struggling in October

The Arizona Cardinals were knocked down a peg in light of Week 4’s home loss to the St. Louis Rams but will attempt to get back to their winning ways against the Detroit Lions in the Motor City on Sunday.

The Cards, who started the season a perfect 3-0 SU and ATS, combined for the fourth-highest point total through the season’s opening three weeks in NFL history. The Rams defense proved to be a much tougher task for the Cards, holding Carson Palmer and company to 22 points.

Despite their red-hot start, October has proven to be a tough month for Arizona. Bruce Arians’ squad is 1-8 SU and 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine October games.

Pegged by many to be a contender in the NFC North, Detroit has reached one of their lowest points in the Matthew Stafford era. The Lions are winless to start the season and rank 29th in both total yards and
