NFL Odds: NFL Pro Bowl Betting Preview

Super Bowl XLIX: Alternative Spreads

In the 48-year history of the Super Bowl the line has closed at less than a field goal only five times. That will likely change from five to six times when kickoff for Super Bowl XLIX finally arrives on Sunday, February 1.

Since the Super Bowl winner has historically covered the spread at an 83 percent clip, previously beating the line in 40 of 48 games, it’s definitely worth looking at alternative numbers you can also bet on at online sportsbook Bovada.

Super Bowl & Groundhog Day Odds Parlay

The 2015 Super Bowl will take place just one day before Groundhog Day, giving sportsbooks the perfect opportunity to capitalize on the legend of Punxsutawney Phil by offering props combining the two events into one special parlay.

NFL Prop Bet: Super Bowl XLIX MVP Odds

- Who is going to follow in Seahawks linebacker Malcolm Smith's footsteps as the Super Bowl MVP for the big game on Sunday, February 1?

Deflategate Odds: Belichick Suspension?

Those nasty cheaters in New England are at it again (allegedly) and Patriots management is on the hot seat over Deflategate.

Did they deliberately deflate balls to cheat against the Ravens and the Colts?

Oddsmakers don’t know, but they know there is lots of interest and therefore lots of reasons to post odds on whether the league will suspend anyone over the controversy.

Super Bowl Betting Odds: Seattle Dogs?

Oddsmakers opened the Seattle Seahawks as 2-point favorites in Super Bowl 49 betting odds, but a flood of money on the New England Patriots quickly changed all that.

Now with at least one sportsbook (Bovada) moving the Pats into slight one-point favorite status, an interesting Super Bowl betting trend has come into focus.

There have been 19 teams that returned to the Super Bowl for a second straight year but only five times did that returning team end up being an underdog in the second season.

NFL Computer Picks: Super Bowl XLIX

The Seattle Seahawks are sitting as slim favorites on the odds to win Super Bowl XLIX at many online sportsbooks this week, but the New England Patriots have been given the slight edge by the OddsShark Computer for the title matchup in Glendale.

NFL Opening Lines: Super Bowl XLIX Odds

The Seattle Seahawks opened as favorites at the online sportsbooks on the betting odds for Super Bowl XLIX against the New England Patriots, with that game set to take place on Sunday, February 1 in Glendale, Arizona.

Russell Wilson and the defending-champion Seahawks opened as 2-point favorites on the Super Bowl XLIX odds, although some sportsbooks had that line at just Seattle -1 or a pick'em not long after the AFC Championship Game came to a merciful end on Sunday night.

NFL ATS Results: Conf. Championships

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers managed to cover the posted spread in the NFC Championship Game, but a devastating late collapse kept them from advancing to Super Bowl XLIX in Glendale.

The Packers led the Seahawks 16-0 at halftime in the NFC Championship Game and 19-7 early in the fourth quarter, but Russell Wilson and company managed to force overtime then won the game 28-22 on a Jermaine Kearse TD catch.

AFC Championship: Patriots hosting Indy

The New England Patriots had no problem winning and covering the posted spread against the Indianapolis Colts earlier this season as those teams get ready to meet in the AFC Championship Game at Gillette Stadium on Sunday.

New England blasted Indianapolis 42-20 as a 3-point road underdog in an OVER result for totals bettors back in Week 11 of the season, improving them to 3-0 both SU and ATS in the last three games between the teams.

The Colts upset the Denver Broncos 24-13 as a 7-point road underdog in the Divisional Round of the playoffs over the weekend, while the Patriots knocked off the Baltimore Ravens 35-31 but didn't cover a 6.5-point spread.

New England bring a 13-4 record (9-8 ATS) to the Conference Playoff betting matchup against the 13-5 Indianapolis Colts, who are 12-5-1 ATS against the spread. Over under betting has seen New England go 10-7 so far and the Colts go 9-9.
