College Football Playoff Betting Overview

The Bowl Championship Series is dead, as the 2014/15 college football season will usher in the inaugural College Football Playoff.

And now, instead of debating which two teams deserve a spot in the national championship game at the end of the season, college football fans will instead be debating which four teams should make up the bracket of the College Football Playoff.


College Football Playoff Betting Venues

The new College Football Playoff will determine this year's college football national champion, and the opening three venues for the bracket will be Pasadena, New Orleans, and Arlington.

Replacing the BCS system, the College Football Playoff is a series of three games that will decide the national champion – two semifinal matchups that will take place around New Year's Day, and then the College Football Championship Game that will take place a week later. The two semifinal winners will then move on to play in the championship game.

The new College Football Playoff is set to start this season, with the College Football Championship Game replacing the BCS National Championship Game as college football's deciding matchup.

Florida State and their Heisman-winning quarterback Jameis Winston edged Auburn by a score of 34-31 in the title game last season, and the oddsmakers have them favored on the College Football Championship Game betting lines for the 2014/15 campaign.

College Football Win Totals: Odds Posted

Alabama once again rules the roost for oddsmakers who posted college football win total odds this week for the 2014 season.

The Tide was given an over-under of 10.5 by online shop 5Dimes, more than any other team. (Note, not all teams have win totals posted yet).

Joining them atop the list is Ohio State and Oregon, also with 10.5 wins. Other Big Ten schools saw their numbers open at 9.5 wins (Wisconsin and Michigan State).
