Big 10 Championship Odds: Iowa vs MSU

Big Ten Championship Iowa Michigan State

The Big Ten Championship, and a likely spot in the playoffs, are up for grabs when Michigan State and Iowa meet at Lucas Oil Stadium Saturday. Iowa has been a good bet in their games against the Spartans, with the Hawkeyes going 9-3 ATS in their past 12 against Michigan State.

Yes, Iowa is perfect. Yes, people are more sceptical of Iowa than any other team in the country. Hawkeyes opponents this season have a combined winning percentage of 46.2 percent with seven of their 12 opponents finishing under .500. If Iowa beats the Spartans they will be an undefeated team in a Power Five conference and it will be next to impossible to not include them in the playoffs.

The Spartans were not letting anyone question them with a 55-16 dismantling of Penn State last week. Connor Cook eliminated any doubts that could be raised as he completed 73 percent of his passes while throwing three touchdowns after returning from a shoulder injury.

North Carolina vs Clemson ACC Odds

Clemson Football

North Carolina and Clemson meet at the Bank of America Stadium this Saturday with the ACC championship on the line. There hasn’t been many upsets when these two teams clash, as the favorite is 4-0 ATS in the past four meetings between the Tigers and Tar Heels.

Sure, UNC lost to South Carolina and have beaten two FCS opponents, but the Tar Heels have been hard to ignore on the field. North Carolina ranks in the top 20 in the nation in rushing yards, points and points allowed. Sophomore running back Elijah Wood has been setting the world on-fire, as he has rushed for 536 yards and eight touchdowns in the past four games.

Clemson is 12-0 for the first time since they won the national championship in 1981. The Tigers have been one of the best all-around teams in the nation this season with the offense ranking 14th and their defense eighth. Clemson also has a legitimate Heisman-candidate in Deshaun Watson who has thrown for 27 touchdowns while adding nine with his feet.

College Football Week 14 Expert Picks

The Michigan State Spartans are 7-1 straight up and 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games coming off an ATS win the week before. Michigan State will try to lock up the Big Ten championship and a playoff spot this Saturday when they take on the Iowa Hawkeyes at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Michigan State is a 3.5-point favorite against Iowa according to online sportsbook 5Dimes. Iowa has had an excellent season going undefeated to this point, but it hasn't faced a team of Michigan State's caliber.

Conference USA Championship Odds

Western Kentucky Football

Southern Mississippi has loved playing within the C-USA as the Golden Eagles have won their past 11 games against conference opponents. Southern Miss will try to make that 12 when they visit the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers with the C-USA crown on the line.

Southern Miss has put up some gaudy numbers during their six-game winning streak as they have averaged 48.2 points and 568 yards of offense while holding opponents to 16.3 points and 286 yards per game. Senior receiver Michael Thomas has been the go-to on offense as he has found the paydirt at least once in eight games.

The Hilltoppers cruised through conference play this season with a perfect 8-0 mark and have not really been challenged by a C-USA opponent since a Week 2 win over Louisiana Tech. Quarterback Brandon Doughty has overcome some injuries to his primary weapons to lead the country in touchdown passes (42) and has three or more TD passes in 10 consecutive games.

MAC Championship Betting Odds

MACtion culminates this season when Bowling Green and Northern Illinois clash at Ford Field Friday. Although these teams rarely face-off against one another, as the Falcons have held a 4-1 SU advantage in the past five against the Huskies.

There’s no question what you are going to get when you face Bowling Green—a staggering amount of offense. The Falcons rank third in the nation in passing yards and fourth in points, thanks to Matt Johnson. The senior signal-caller leads the country in passing yards (4465) and is second in passing touchdowns (41) while throwing only six interceptions.

A few things in life seem to be certain—death, taxes and NIU in the MAC Championship game. The Huskies will be making their sixth consecutive trip to the conference title game while winning the big game three times in that span. NIU is a throwback team, with the rushing game averaging 213.3 yards per game while the defense has only allowed 24.8 ppg.

AAC Championship: Temple at Houston

With a win this past weekend, Temple secured their first 10-win season since 1979 and their first division title since 2009 (MAC East). The Owls defense has been turning it on at the right time this season. Following a bad loss to USF, Temple has allowed an average of just 185 yards and 7.5 points per game.

With a dominant win over Navy last week, Houston has placed themselves as frontrunners to get the Group of 5 spot in a New Year’s Six Bowl. Greg Ward Jr. showed some of his amazing potential in the Cougars win over the Midshipmen, with the junior throwing for 308 yards and three touchdowns while adding 83 yards and another score on the ground.

College Football Week 14 Betting Trends

The Stanford Cardinal are 10-1 straight up and 9-2 against the spread in their last 11 games against opponents from the Pac-12. The Cardinal will try to wrap up another strong season with a win in the Pac-12 Championship Game against the USC Trojans at Levi's Stadium.

SEC Championship Has Very Low Total

Two of the best defenses in the nation clash with the SEC Championship hanging in the balance when the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Florida Gators meet at the Georgia Dome Saturday. With two stellar defenses, it shouldn't come as a shock that the total is incredibly low, but that does beg the question; do such low totals manage to stay UNDER?

So far this season in college football there have been 18 games that have closed with a total of 39.5 or lower. The UNDER has hit in 12 of those 18 games (66.7 percent) with the average combined score tallying 32.6 points.
