The Falcons were on a five-game winning streak before they closed out last season with a tight 30-27 loss to Pittsburgh in the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl as a 6.5-point favorite. Even with that upset loss Bowling Green was still 10-4 SU and ATS, and went 6-1 ATS on the road.
The Hilltoppers were on a four-game winning streak at the end of last season and had won seven of their last nine games. The wins didn’t do much for bettors though, as Western Kentucky was only 5-7 ATS last season. As a favorite the Hilltoppers posted a disappointing 3-6 ATS record.
