Maryland Becoming a Solid Over Play

In the past nine games featuring the Maryland Terrapins the OVER has gone 7-2. Largely it has been Maryland’s defense that has been the culprit with opposing teams averaging nearly 37 points per game in that span. The Terps will visit the Iowa Hawkeyes this Saturday.

Maryland certainly looked a lot better under interim head coach Mike Locksley than they did under Randy Edsall. The Terrapins only lost by one point against Penn State and scored 30 points, almost totalling the same amount they did in their previous three games.

Iowa remains the only undefeated team in the Big Ten West after a 40-10 beatdown of Northwestern last week. The Hawkeyes have only allowed 15.3 points per game this season, good for tenth in the nation, and only one team has managed to score 20-plus points against Iowa.

Clemson Has Beaten Up On NC State

Clemson is coming off of a ridiculous 58-0 beatdown vs Miami, which is the third biggest domination in ACC history. The 416 rushing yards Clemson tallied were the most in a game since 2000. It has looked easy for Clemson with the team sporting an average scoring margin of plus-18.5.

After scoring a ridiculous 28 points in the first quarter last week, NC State cruised to a 35-17 victory. The first quarter saw the Wolfpack score more points than their previous two games combined. Running back Matthew Dayes had a massive day rushing for 205 yards on 16 carries, an average of 12.8 yards per rush, and two touchdowns.

Auburn Dominant vs Ole Miss in Past Six

The annual meeting between Ole Miss and Auburn has been leaning one way as of late, with the Tigers going 5-1 SU and ATS in the past six games between the two teams. Those six games have seen Auburn average 35 points while Ole Miss tallied 24.5. The two teams will renew acquaintances this Saturday.

Ole Miss got a much-needed win over Texas A&M last week, which means the Rebels hold their own destiny in their hands. Ole Miss holds a tiebreak over Alabama, but does not play LSU until November 21. In their wins this season, Ole Miss has held their opponents to 14.8 points per game, but in their losses they have allowed 37.5.

Auburn is now 1-3 in league play and just 4-3 on the season as a whole. The Tigers are a mess defensively as they continue to rebuild under coordinator Will Muschamp, with Auburn allowing an SEC West-worst 431 yards per game.

SC Winless on the Road This Season

This is not a year to remember for the Gamecocks, but the biggest difficulties have come on the road where South Carolina is 0-3 SU and ATS. South Carolina has been outscored 121-54 on the road, an average scoring margin of minus-22.3. The Gamecocks will look to record their first win or cover on the road this season when they visit the Texas A&M Aggies Saturday.

The post-Steve Spurrier era got off on the right track with a 19-10 win over Vanderbilt two weeks ago. Now interim coach Shawn Elliott has had a bye week to truly prepare his team and get ready to try and salvage this season for the Gamecocks. The lone standout offensively for South Carolina is receiver Pharaoh Cooper, who has accounted for five of the team’s 13 offensive touchdowns.

Two straight losses have tempered some expectations for Texas A&M. Sure those losses were against powerhouses in Alabama and Ole Miss, but the Aggies looked completely overwhelmed in both cases.  A&M combined for 26 points in those two games, with an embarrassing three points last week, with quarterback Kyle Allen throwing four picks and no touchdowns.

TCU Continues to Cash At Home

TCU continues to excel at home, with the Horned Frogs winning 11-straight games SU at Forth Worth, but they have also sported a stellar 9-2 ATS record in those games. Amon G. Carter Stadium will be the site when TCU hosts the West Virginia Mountaineers Thursday.

West Virginia got a much needed week off after watching their defense give up 62 points and 693 yards of offense to the powerhouse Baylor offense. The Mountaineers are in the middle of one of the toughest stretches in college football this season as they are about to play their fourth consecutive game against a Top 25 team to begin conference play, a first for any Big 12 team.

Quarterback Trevone Boykin is one of the few people in the Heisman conversation as the senior has put TCU on his back with 25 touchdowns and only five interceptions this season. He has also added another five touchdowns with his feet this season.
