College Football Week 13 Expert Picks

The Michigan Wolverines are 1-4 straight up and against the spread in their last five home games against the Ohio State Buckeyes. With Jim Harbaugh at the helm, it's time the Wolverines turn that misfortune around this Saturday in Ann Arbor.

Undermanned TCU vs Baylor Odds

TCU Football

TCU may be without Trevone Boykin and Josh Doctson, but the Horned Frogs have loved playing Baylor as the team has gone 7-1 ATS in their past eight against the Bears. TCU will end their regular season when they play host to Baylor on Friday.

The Horned Frogs have lost two of their past three games, but the loss of Boykin has been the worst for the team. TCU’s passing offense looked bad against Oklahoma last week with quarterbacks Bram Kohlhausen and Foster Sawyer combining to throw 13-of-29 with three touchdowns and three interceptions.

If Baylor wants to somehow sneak into the playoffs, which I will freely admit is a long shot, they will need to beat TCU and Texas to end their season. Baylor is dealing with injuries at quarterback with starter Seth Russell out for the season and backup Jarrett Stidham likely out this week. That puts third-string sophomore Chris Johnson in the starter role.

Oregon State Has History on Their Side

Oregon State Football

The Civil War between the Oregon Ducks and Oregon State Beavers will have another chapter written Friday when the two teams meet in Eugene. If there has been one constant in this rivalry it’s that the road team is the safe bet, with the road team going 8-0-1 ATS in the past nine meetings.

Oregon thumped USC 48-28 last week with quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. putting on one of the greatest shows this season. The senior completed 20-of-25 passes for six touchdowns with an awe-inspiring quarterback rating of 288.0.

Oregon State has been far less impressive this season, with the Beavers not winning a game in well over a month and still haven’t recorded a single conference win. Oregon State is coming off an embarrassment of a game that saw them blown out 52-7 when they allowed Washington to score on their first six possessions.

OVER Trending Between Iowa & Nebraska

Iowa NCAA Football

Iowa finally got the respect it deserves in the rankings this week, but they have been silently killing it at the betting window too with the OVER going 5-1 in the Hawkeyes’ past six games. Iowa will visit the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Friday, who have gone OVER in four of their past five.

You wouldn’t know it from their reactions on the field, but Iowa clinched the Big Ten West last week and a spot in the Big Ten championship with a 40-20 victory over Purdue. The Hawkeyes, who are probably the most doubted team in college football this season, have been great at keeping the ball secure as quarterback C.J. Beathard has not thrown a pick in four games.

Nebraska is coming off a bye and will relish in the role of spoiler as a single Iowa loss will likely knock them out of the playoffs. The Cornhuskers have won their past two games, one of which was against Michigan State.

Navy is a Great Bet Following a Win

Navy Football Reynolds

The damn-near unstoppable triple-option attack of Navy has been great at covering following a win, with the Midshipmen going 9-1 ATS in their past 10 following a W. Navy will visit the Houston Cougars Friday, with eyes on making a New Year’s Six Bowl.

Navy’s rushing attack has amassed 1273 yards and 17 touchdowns in their last three games. To put that number into perspective, that is more rushing yards than eight teams have had all season long and more rushing touchdowns than 44 schools.

Houston is coming off their first loss of the season, a shocker to the then 5-5 UConn Huskies. The Cougars, who have averaged 43.5 points and 521 yards of offense per game this season, were held to 17 points and 318 total yards in the loss.
