Irish Facing Jackets Minus Starting QB

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are 5-0 SU in their last five September games but they'll be without injured starting quarterback Malik Zaire on Saturday afternoon as they play host to another ranked team, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

The Irish are 2-0 SU and 1-1 ATS on the season, but lost Zaire last week to a fractured ankle. Notre Dame's 34-27 win over Virginia last week as a 13.5-point road favorite was their eighth OVER result on the totals in their past 10 games.

Georgia Tech is 2-0 both SU and ATS with two OVER results on the season, and the Yellow Jackets are also 8-1 SU and 9-0 ATS in their last nine games. As well, Georgia Tech has paid out ATS in each of its last four games against Notre Dame.

USC Looking to Continue a Win Streak

The USC Trojans will be looking to extend their current SU winning streak to four games when they play host to the Stanford Cardinal on Saturday night.

The Cardinal rebounded from a stunning 16-6 loss to Northwestern in Week 1 with 31-7 defeat of Central Florida on the weekend, easily covering as 20.5-point favorites and improving to 4-1 SU and ATS in their past five games.

Stanford is also 3-1 SU in their last four trips to USC, but dropped a 20-17 decision as 3.5-point favorites in their last visit back in 2013.

Notre Dame Title Odds Drop With Injuries

While the Notre Dame Fighting Irish emerged victorious (in dramatic fashion) over Virginia this past Saturday, the win was of the Pyrrhic variety, as it lost starting quarterback Malik Zaire for the season with a fractured ankle.

In addition to Zaire’s injury, the Irish have been hit by a series of maladies to key players, including tight end Durham Smythe and running back Tarean Folston, who were both lost for the season.
