Florida Atlantic Owls vs Michigan State Spartans Odds

Owls are supposedly clever creatures and maybe they can teach Florida Atlantic how they can possibly hope to beat Michigan State at Spartan Stadium.

It's a mismatch on paper and on the field but the 32.5-point spread makes it plenty interesting at online sportsbooks such as BetOnline this weekend. But recall the Owls couldn't cover 34 points last week against the Florida Gators before banking on a backdoor cover here in Week 2.

Central Michigan Chippewas vs Kentucky Wildcats Odds

The visiting Chippewas hope to send their backers to the pay window on Saturday as they look to cover the spread at Commonwealth Stadium against the Kentucky Wildcats.

And that spread is shrinking all the time. It opened at -13.5 for the SEC Wildcats, but the MAC school has been getting a lot of betting action behind them. The number as of Thursday afternoon was -10 at BetOnline with the possibility it could slide further.

San Diego State Aztecs vs Army Black Knights Odds

The visiting San Diego Aztecs are a team on the move as they are favored big Saturday as they visit Michie Stadium to take on Army's Black Knights.

Winners of seven of their past nine games, SD State gives 10 points at shops like Bovada to the home team. The are also 8-2 SU in their past 10 matches as a favorite. Army meanwhile was handled easily at Northern Illinois, making this the second straight week they are double-digit underdogs.

Terrapins now favored vs. Miami

Miami will play without eight suspended players and are still only 4.5 point underdogs as the Hurricanes travel to Maryland Monday to face the Terrapins.

The huge booster scandal claimed many Week 1 victims including Miami QB Jacory Harris and standout linebacker Sean Spence, swinging the Miami-Maryland point spread all the way from -5.5 for the Canes to -4.5 for the Terps.

It's a nationally televised ACC battle that is expected to draw a sellout crowd.

Of note, the home team has won both previous meetings since 2006 but the road team covered the spread each team. Miami has also struggled against the number, going 1-5 ATS in its past six matches overall.

LSU Tigers vs Oregon Ducks in NCAA odds

It's the biggest game of the year, conveniently wrapped into the Week 1 schedule and plugged into a neutral site at Cowboys Stadium on Saturday.

Oregon played in the national title game last year and have designs on returning, but they need to start quickly as the No. 3 rated school. They face LSU, the No. 4 ranked team which also is pointed at the BCS game.

The Tigers, who face a tough SEC schedule in addition to this game, will play without suspended QB Jordan Jefferson and backup QB Jarrett Lee will run the controls. They'll face Heisman Trophy candidate LaMichael James bursting out of the Oregon backfield.

The neutral site possibly favors LSU, which some Tiger fans making the trip to Dallas. It will feel like a road game to the Ducks and they have won 15 of 19 road games dating back three seasons.

But wager against LSU at your peril. The Tigers have won 17 straight September games.

SEC 2011 Odds Preview

Five different teams have won the SEC over the last six seasons, and the last five SEC champs have  gone on to win the national title. So the stakes are huge when it comes to this conference. This season the SEC starts off with two teams ranked in the top four, and eight in the Top 25. Looks like another banner year for the top conference in the country; head over to Bovada for the latest SEC odds.

TCU vs Baylor College Football Betting

To bet on the Baylor Bears Friday is to bet that TCU will lose its first regular season game since 2008.

While it's not impossible (and while many bettors seem to be throwing their support behind the Bears), it's a risky proposition betting against one of NCAA football's premiere programs at Floyd Casey Stadium.

Sophomore quarterback Casey Pachall takes over for Andy Dalton at TCU, which will move to the Big East next season. But they lost a lot of seniors and may be ripe for the taking by Baylor.

Big Ten 2011 Odds Preview

The Big Ten now consists of 12 teams with the addition of Nebraska - and the Cornhuskers are the favorites to win the conference their first time around.

* Editor Note: See the current Big Ten season betting odds here

However, the Wisconsin Badgers and transfer QB Russell Wilson might have something to say about that, as might the scandal-rocked Ohio State Buckeyes.

Division II schools huge underdogs

Not every sportsbook offers odds on college football games involving Division II schools, but alumni from those schools can get their action down at one shop.

They might not like the odds, but Fordham fans can bet on the Rams when they face UConn on Thursday to kick off the NCAA football betting schedule for 2001. The spread? 40 points at 5Dimes. Can the Rams cover 40 points?
