Sports betting is now legal in New Jersey

Nevada is not the only state in the United States to allow sports betting following a major announcement made Monday by New Jersey Governor Chris Christie stating it would no longer be illegal there. Christie’s directive allows casinos and racetracks to take wagers on sporting events except those involving teams in New Jersey, including the New York Giants and Jets.

Courts rule against NJ sports betting

A federal appeals court was the latest to roadblock New Jersey’s push to legalize sports betting Tuesday.

The three-judge panel upheld an earlier roadblock ruling that the state’s betting law violates federal law and can’t be implemented. But the state has indicated it will take its case to the Supreme Court, because it feels a 20-year-old law is unconstitutional (it gives Nevada and three other states privileges of sports betting but forbids the other 46 states).

Odds to Win 2011 Rugby World Cup

It has been 10 years since the Wallabies last won the Tri-Nations. This stunning win will forever label Australia as the last winner of this tournament as the Tri Nations will become the "Four Nations" in 2012 with the inclusion of Argentina.

The 25-20 victory over arch-rival New Zealand is a vital confidence boost for the Wallabies heading into the 2011 Rugby World Cup. The All Blacks, favorites to win the 2011 Rugby World Cup, now go into their home tournament with back to back losses, the first time they have ever done so leading into the tournament.

IndyCar racing gets its annual spotlight treatment this weekend when the series returns to Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 100th anniversary of the Indianapolis 500.

The pole-sitter for this year's Indy 500 is Canadian Alex Tagliani. He turned in some blistering times in qualifying to earn the pole, and even though the pole-sitter has won three of the last five Indy 500 races Tagliani is not the favorite on the Indianapolis 500 odds at Bovada. Right now Tagliani is third on the odds list at 13/2.
