Heat Have Great Track Record vs Knicks

You can’t blame the New York Knicks if they’re looking more nervous than usual for tonight’s contest with the Miami Heat at American Airlines Arena. The Heat have absolutely dominated this series as of late, garnering eight wins in a row against their Eastern Conference foes including two wins earlier this season by an average of 18 points. The Heat limited the Knickerbockers to a paltry 78 points in both outings.

Shark Bites
  • The Heat are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games.
  • The Over is 9-3 in the Knicks' last 12 games.
  • The Over is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings between the Knicks and Heat in Miami.

The Heat have won three-straight heading into the tilt – a season high – thanks to a 103-100 overtime victory over the Indiana Pacers that saw them erase an 18 point deficit. New York has won two straight to improve to 17-19 SU on the year while looking like a completely different team from last year’s club that posted a woeful 17-65 record – the worst season in franchise history.

A big reason for New York’s success is the emergence of Latvian rookie sensation Kristaps Porzingis. Porzingis is averaging 13.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game in the 2015-16 campaign and has been especially in the last few weeks, collecting three double-doubles in the Knicks’ last seven games.

NBA Odds: Thunder are on an ATS Slide

Kevin Durant Thunder

Despite winning four out of their last five games SU, the Oklahoma City Thunder have been a team to stay away from as of late, as they’ve gone just 1-5 ATS over their last six games. The poor ATS showing has been the result of facing some relatively large spreads, as OKC has faced a spread of 10 or higher in five out of their last seven games.

Tonight they’ll host the Memphis Grizzlies, who are on an ATS slide of their own—going just 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight road games. The game opened with a 5.5-point spread in favor of the Thunder, and a total of 199.5.

The teams have already played each other twice this season, with each winning a game SU and covering. Both games went OVER, totalling 213 and 236 respectively.

In their December 8th win over the Grizzlies, Kevin Durant went off for 32 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. Durant has a history of dominating Memphis, as he’s averaged 28.1 points and 7.4 rebounds against them in 27 career games.

Warriors Bring Showtime to Los Angeles

Golden State continued their record setting pace with a 111-101 home win last night over the Hornets. It was their third straight game of 111 points or more, and they’ll be looking to continue their high scoring ways tonight vs the Lakers at Staples Center.

The Warriors absolutely demolished the Lakers earlier in the season—111-77, easily covering a 17 point spread. The win bumped the Warriors to 7-3 SU and ATS over the Lakers in their last 10 matchups.

The Lakers are an underwhelming 15-20 ATS on the season, but have gone on a 5-1 ATS run over their last six games. The Lakers are also off to a strong start in 2016, winning three straight games SU. Lou Williams of all people has led the way for the Lakers in the three wins, averaging 24.3 points during the streak.

Despite the Lakers short run of success, they’ve been absolutely dreadful against other Western Conference teams, posting a 2-20 SU and 4-18 ATS record vs Western foes over their last 22 games.

The Warriors look like a solid bet tonight (just like every other night), as they’re 6-0 ATS in their last six games against divisional opponents, and 5-1 ATS in the second games of back-to-backs.

UNDER a Hot Bet Between Bulls, Bucks

The Chicago Bulls have a new face of the franchise, and his name is Jimmy Butler. Butler erupted in the second half of Sunday’s 115-113 comeback win over Toronto in the form of 40 points – eclipsing Michael Jordan’s previous franchise record for points in a half – to lead the Bulls to their fourth win in as many games.

Shark Bites
  • The Bucks are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games against the Bulls.
  • The total has gone UNDER in eight of the Bucks' last 10 games against the Bulls.
  • The Bulls are 2-11 ATS in their last 13 games after an ATS win.

Next up on the docket for Chicago is a home date with the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks, fresh off a surprising postseason appearance last year, were expected by many to take the leap in 2015-16 but that hasn’t happened. Jason Kidd’s club is sitting with an underwhelming 14-22 SU record heading into the tilt and are a woeful 5-15 on the road compared to Chicago’s blistering 14-5 home record.

When the Bulls and Bucks get together, low-scoring games are the norm. The UNDER has paid out in eight of the last 10 meetings between Chicago and Milwaukee.
