Andrew Wiggins: Kansas Odds Soar

A week ago, Kansas was a 30-1 longshot to win the 2014 college basketball championship, but one signature from one teenager pushed that number to 10-1.

High school phenom Andrew Wiggins chose Kansas this week, and the result was that odds at some sportsbooks plummeted while others posted them for the first time.

At TopBet, Kansas was +1000 on Wednesday after being +3000 on May 1.

Louisville vs Michigan Betting Odds

College basketball bettors will get a marquee matchup in the title game of the NCAA Tournament on Monday night as top seed Louisville tries to pay off against four seed Michigan.

The Cardinals won their Final Four matchup on Saturday night but couldn't grab an ATS victory in a a 72-68 win against Wichita State at the Georgia Dome. Louisville had been listed as the big 10.5-point favorite at the sportsbooks in that contest.

The Wolverines were winners both SU and ATS in their Final Four matchup in Atlanta on Saturday, topping Syracuse 61-56 as the 2-point favorite at the sportsbooks. Mitch McGary scored 10 points and grabbed 12 boards for Michigan in that matchup.

Higher seeds have dominated the title game since 2001 with higher ranks going 7-2 SU (with three additional games featuring No. 1 vs No. 1 same seeds). And favorites have also been the best bet, as the chalk is 9-3 ATS in the past 12 national championship games.

The Wolverines are 20-16-1 ATS versus the spread this season, while the Cardinals are 23-15-1 ATS. Michigan is 20-17 against the total, while Louisville is 20-16 versus the over under number.

Louisville Wich State Betting Pick

The underdog Wichita State Shockers will be looking for another NCAA Tournament upset on Saturday as they take on Louisville at the Georgia Dome in a Final Four odds matchup at the sportsbooks.

And they have been very tough as a big dog, going 12-4 ATS in 16 games as a dog of 8.5 points or more since 2003.

Wichita State continued their run in the Elite Eight over the weekend, paying off for their supporters against Ohio State with a 70-66 victory. Top overall seed Louisville, meanwhile, easily covered a 4-point spread in a 85-63 win against Duke last game.

And Louisville has been dominant as a favorite, rolling up a 9-1 ATS record in their past 10 games in this situation. Final Four trends also point to the Cardinals winning here as higher seeds; they are 12-1 SU since 2005 in games facing lower seeds.

The Shockers will try to spoil to the party on Saturday; they are 20-14-1 ATS against the number this season, while the Cardinals are 23-14-1 ATS. Wichita State is 17-17 on the totals; Louisville is 19-16.

Final Four Odds: Syracuse Michigan

Two No. 4 seeds hit the hardwood at the Georgia Dome on Saturday as the Syracuse Orange take on the Michigan Wolverines in Final Four betting action at the sportsbooks.

And if the recent Jim Boeheim vs John Beilein history is any indication, Syracuse will upset Michigan as 2-point underdogs. In nine games between Syracuse's Boeheim and Michigan's Beilein, the Orange are 9-0 SU. (That includes games when Beilein coached Richmond and West Virginia).

Syracuse topped Marquette 55-39 to pay off for their supporters in the Elite Eight last time out. Michigan also won handily in their Elite Eight matchup, knocking off Florida by a score of 79-59 in a game in which they were the 3.5-point underdogs.

The 4 vs 4 seed means that the Final Four 'higher seed' trend is not in play. In the past 13 Final Four matchups with higher and lower seeds, the higher seed won 12 games.

The Orange sit at 30-9 (19-15-1 ATS) on the season. By comparison, the Wolverines are currently 30-7 (19-16-1 ATS). Looking to wager on the totals? Syracuse is 14-20 OU, and Michigan is 20-16 OU.

Over under bettors should be aware that, since 2005, this round has produced UNDERs at a 11-4-1 rate.

Louisville vs Wichita State Props

The over under on Russ Smith scoring is 19.5 while Carl Hall's points plus rebounds is 17.5.

Since everyone assumes fans are betting on the game, sportsbooks add plenty of Final Four props to add more spice and drama to the game between Louisville and Wichita State.

Michigan vs Syracuse Prop Betting Odds

A slight majority of Final Four bettors like Syracuse over Michigan but what about the final margin of victory?

A Michigan blowout of 20+ points would pay a huge 14/1 on the Final Four props menu for the Syracuse vs Michigan semifinal.

George Mason vs. Santa Clara CBI Odds

Final Four Trends: Odds Favor Chalk

Louisville is favored to win the national championship and almost every Final Four trend points to the Cardinals winning the title next Monday.

By the time the March Madness bracket is whittled down to four teams, the upsets come to a screeching halt. In eight Final Fours since 2005, higher seeds are 12-1 SU over lower seeds. (Three games featured games between same-seeded teams).

And by the time you reach the national championship game, the higher seeds are 7-2 SU (with three additional games featuring No. 1 vs No. 1 same seeds) since 2001.
