Elite Eight: Wisconsin takes on Arizona

The two two seeds in the West Region will battle for a berth in the Final Four on Saturday as the No. 1 Wisconsin Badgers and the No. 2 Arizona Wildcats take the floor together at the Staples Center in Los Angeles in Elite Eight betting action.

The Badgers are coming off a 79-72 win over No. 4 North Carolina in the Sweet 16, paying off for anyone who took them as 6.5-point betting favorites in that contest. The Wildcats got past No. 6 Xavier by a 68-60 score in their Sweet 16 matchup, failing to cover the 11.5-point spread in that game.

Sooners vs. Spartans: Sweet 16 Betting

The No. 3 Oklahoma Sooners will be looking for their third straight SU win, but just their first back-to-back ATS wins in their last 10 games, when they meet the No. 7 Michigan State Spartans in a Sweet Sixteen showdown on Friday night.

The Sooners reached the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 2009 by overcoming a nine-point second-half deficit to knock off No. 11 Dayton 72-66 in the Round of 32, covering as four-point betting favorites. Oklahoma faces the Spartans for just the second time in 12 years, dropping an 87-76 decision to Michigan State last season, but covering as 11.5-point underdogs.

Sweet 16 Odds and Trends: Duke vs Utah

The top-seeded Duke Blue Devils continue to roll in the Big Dance due to outstanding defense and a powerful inside game, and now they meet the fifth-seeded Utah Utes on Friday in Houston with a berth in the Elite Eight on the line. The Blue Devils have won 14 of their last 15 games to go along with a 10-5 mark against the spread while the Utes have covered both of their two wins in the Big Dance after going 1-4 ATS in their previous five.

Utah scored a close cover in its 57-50 victory as 6.5-point favorites against the 12th-seeded Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks in the Round of 64. But then the Utes covered easily as 4.5-point chalk in a 75-64 win over the fourth-seeded Georgetown Hoyas in the Round of 32 on Saturday.

Louisville vs. Wolfpack: Sweet 16 Odds

The No. 4 Louisville Cardinals will be looking for back-to-back ATS wins for just the third time this season when they meet No. 8 North Carolina State in an East Region Sweet Sixteen matchup at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse. But the Cards have found ways to win, going 6-2 SU in their last eight.

Louisville set a school record with their fifth straight Sweet Sixteen berth, and are an impressive 14-2 SU in their last 16 March Madness games, 10-5-1 ATS. However, the Cards were shocked 74-65 by the conference-rival Wolfpack earlier this season, losing in spectacular fashion as 10.5-point home favorites.

Sweet 16 Betting: Gonzaga battles UCLA

The 11th-seeded UCLA Bruins were not even supposed to be in the Big Dance field according to some critics, who are now silent with the team headed for a Sweet 16 showdown with the second-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs in the South Region on Friday in Houston. The Bruins have won their first two games in the Big Dance and covered the spread in each of their past four thanks in part to a controversial goaltending call and favorable Round of 32 matchup.

UCLA knocked out the sixth-seeded SMU Mustangs 60-59 as 4-point underdogs in the Round of 64 when guard Bryce Alford got credit for his ninth three-pointer of the game on the goaltending call in the final seconds. The Bruins followed that win up by beating the 14th-seeded UAB Blazers 92-75 as 5.5-point favorites on Saturday after UAB had upset the third-seeded Iowa State Cyclones.

Sweet 16 Odds: Irish vs. Wichita State

The seventh-seeded Wichita State Shockers have already accomplished more in this NCAA Tournament than they did as an unbeaten team a year ago. The Shockers are headed to the Sweet 16 in the Midwest Region where they will face the third-seeded Notre Dame Fighting Irish in Cleveland. Last year, No. 1 seed and previously unbeaten Wichita State was upset by the eighth-seeded Kentucky Wildcats as 4.5-point favorites in the Round of 32, and now the school is hoping for a rematch in the Midwest Regional Final.

First though, the Fighting Irish will have something to say about that as they go for their eighth consecutive win. They are 5-2 against the spread in their past seven games, with both non-covers coming in the Big Dance. Notre Dame has won its first two games of the tournament by a combined five points after edging the sixth-seeded Butler Bulldogs 67-64 in overtime as 4.5-point favorites on Saturday.

Wisconsin vs. UNC: Sweet 16 Odds, Pick

The No. 1 Wisconsin Badgers look to pick up their ninth straight SU win when they meet the No. 4 North Carolina Tar Heels in a West Region Sweet Sixteen matchup. But while Wisconsin has been hard to beat on the scoreboard, they are just 1-8 ATS in their last nine as double-digit favorites.

The Badgers have now reached the Sweet Sixteen in four of the last five years, and are 6-1 SU in their last seven March Madness matchups, 4-2-1 ATS. The squad is winless SU in their two most recent meetings with the Tar Heels, dating back to UNC's 88-82 Elite Eight win in 2005, but covered as betting underdogs in each contest.

Kentucky battles WVU: Sweet 16 Matchup

The top-seeded Kentucky Wildcats will face the fifth-seeded West Virginia Mountaineers in the NCAA Tournament for the third time in six years when they square off Thursday in the second Sweet 16 matchup of the Midwest Region in Cleveland. The Wildcats were the No. 1 seed and led by John Wall, Patrick Patterson and DeMarcus Cousins when they were upset by the second-seeded Mountaineers 73-66 as 4-point favorites in the East Regional Final back in 2010. West Virginia went on to lose to the eventual NCAA champion Duke Blue Devils in the national semifinals.

This year, Kentucky has remained unbeaten at 36-0 by topping the 16th-seeded Hampton Pirates and the eighth-seeded Cincinnati Bearcats in the first two games but did not cover the spread against either opponent. The Wildcats are coming off a 64-51 victory against the Bearcats in the Round of 32 on Saturday and fell just short of covering as 15.5-point favorites after Cincy scored the last six points of the game. Kentucky is allowing an average of 53.5 points per game so far in the Big Dance.

Sweet 16 Betting: Arizona faces Xavier

The No. 2 Arizona Wildcats will be gunning for a 14th straight SU win when they tip off against No. 6 Xavier on Thursday night at Staples Center. The Wildcats recorded a third straight win by double-digits with their 73-58 win over No. 10 Ohio State in the Round of 32, but are just 2-2 ATS in their last four.

Arizona have now reached the Sweet Sixteen in their fifth straight NCAA Tournament appearance, but are just 1-4 ATS in March Madness action since covering as 3.5-point underdogs in a 73-70 loss to the Buckeyes in the Sweet Sixteen two years ago.
