The Kansas City Royals will host the San Francisco Giants with the championship on the line on Wednesday night as those teams take the diamond together for Game 7 of the best-of-seven World Series.

And the pitching matchup for Wednesday night will be the Giants' Tim Hudson against the Royals' Jeremy Guthrie. Hudson gave up three runs on four hits over 5 2-3 innings in a loss to the Royals in Game 3 of the World Series, while Guthrie picked up the victory in that contest by allowing just two runs on four hits over his five innings of work.

World Series Game 6: Giants can clinch

The San Francisco Giants can wrap up yet another World Series title on Tuesday as they send Jake Peavy to the mound against the Kansas City Royals in Game 5 of the set.

Peavy has already lost to the Royals once in this series, giving up four runs on six hits over five innings of work in Game 2. Yordano Ventura will get the ball on Tuesday for the Royals, who trail the Giants 3-2 in the best-of-seven set. Ventura gave up just two runs on eight hits over his 5 1-3 innings in that Game 2 win for Kansas City last week.

World Series Game 5: Royals at Giants

James Shields will be looking to bounce back from a weak Game 1 outing on Sunday night as his Kansas City Royals face the San Francisco Giants in Game 5 of the World Series.

The Royals lost Game 1 of the World Series to the Giants after Shields allowed five runs on seven hits in just three innings of work. Madison Bumgarner gave up just one run on three hits over seven innings in that Game 1 win for San Francisco, and the lefthander gets the ball again on Sunday.

World Series Game 4: Royals at Giants

The Kansas City Royals are expected to give the ball to lefthander Jason Vargas on Saturday night as they take on the San Francisco Giants in Game 4 of the World Series at AT&T Park.

Vargas has made two appearances so far in the postseason, holding the Angels and Orioles to three runs on five hits over 11 1-3 innings in a pair of Kansas City wins. Ryan Vogelsong is the probable starter for the Giants on Saturday; the righthander has allowed five runs on nine hits over 8 2-3 innings so far in the playoffs.

Giants host Royals World Series Game 3

The World Series is deadlocked at one victory apiece as the San Francisco Giants send Tim Hudson to the mound against the Kansas City Royals in Game 3 of the best-of-seven set on Friday night.

San Francisco is 2-0 in Hudson's two starts so far in the playoffs, although the righthander has had to settle for two no-decisions after giving up five runs on 14 hits over 13 2-3 innings. Jeremy Guthrie pitches for the Royals on Friday; Guthrie held the Orioles to one run over five innings in his only other start so far in the postseason.
