MLB: 2016 World Series Odds Tracker

The 2016 MLB season is inching closer to its conclusion and the playoff picture is starting to take some shape. We have been watching the futures market all year long, really ever since the Kansas City Royals won it all last year. Here is how the lines have moved through the offseason and throughout the season so far.

Atlanta Braves vs San Francisco Giants in MLB Betting Odds

The San Francisco Giants get a visit from the Atlanta Braves in MLB baseball betting action on Friday, with the home side looking to send the visitors to the showers with a loss.

Joel De La Cruz, with a record of 0-6 on the season, gets the ball for the Atlanta Braves, while the San Francisco Giants trot Jeff Samardzija to the mound in this one. He is 10-9 so far in 2016.

Unders Bettors Have Profited From Cubs-Dodgers Games

In what is not exactly a star-studded pitching matchup, Mike Montgomery (2.41 ERA) will take the mound for the Cubs as they visit Los Angeles to take on Bud Norris (6-10, 4.69 ERA) and the Dodgers.

The Cubs are 4-1 in their last 5 games against the Dodgers.
The total has gone UNDER in 10 of the Cubs' last 11 games against the Dodgers.
The Dodgers are 10-4 in their last 14 games after a loss.

Montgomery made his first start for the Cubs last week but was only allowed to pitch 4.1 innings in what was deemed a “tandem start” by the Cubbies’ organization. The lefty had not pitched more than two innings for the club and needed to stretch out his arm. It is likely he will have tonight’s start all to himself after looking good in his last outing.

Bud Norris was used as a reliever in a game against the Reds on Monday and has been in and out of the rotation since being acquired from the Braves. He has, somehow, been pretty good in home games this year posting a 2.77 ERA inside friendly ball parks. He has seen the Cubs once this year when he hurled seven innings of four-hit one-run ball.

Based on the UNDER trend and how Norris has pitched at home, a bet on the UNDER of a bloated total is the likely bet.

Total Tends to go Over When Mariners Visit US Cellular

The White Sox survived a slugfest last night with the Mariners and will call upon Chris Sale (15-6, 3.15 ERA) in Game 2 of their series with Seattle in the South Side of Chicago.

The Mariners are 6-22 in their last 28 games on the road against the White Sox.
The White Sox are 3-8 in their last 11 games after a win.
The Mariners are 8-1 and 7-2 against the runline in their last 9 games after losing as a favorite.

Chris Sale got his first win since July 2 in his last start in which he tossed eight innings of three-hit no-run baseball against the Athletics. The lanky-lefty has seen his play drop off significantly since the first half of the season but still has a good shot to win the AL Cy Young if he continues to pitch like he did in his last start. Sale is 8-2 at US Cellular Field this season but has a pretty ugly 4.01 ERA.

The Mariners will counter with Felix Hernandez tonight and will be more confident in him than they may have been earlier in the season. King Felix has been solid in the month of August, going 3-0 with an ERA of 2.73 in four starts. The Venezuelan did not fare well in his only start against the White Sox this year, however. He faced them his first game back from a lengthy DL stint and was knocked around for 10 hits and five earned runs.

The last three times these teams have met in Chicago the total has gone OVER. Seattle’s offense has been snapping lately so if you can find a low total, that may be the bet to lean towards tonight.
