The Boston Red Sox will get a chance to knock the Tampa Bay Rays out of the playoffs on Monday night as the two teams meet in Florida for Game 3 of their best-of-five ALDS.

The Red Sox outscored the Rays 19-6 over the first two games of this postseason series at Fenway Park, winning big by a score of 12-2 back in Game 1 last Friday and then picking up a 7-4 victory in Game 2 of the series on Saturday.

Pirates can close out their NLDS

The Pittsburgh Pirates can close out their NLDS against the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday afternoon as the two teams meet at PNC Park in the fourth game of the best-of-five set.

The Pittsburgh Pirates will send Francisco Liriano to the mound on Sunday afternoon as they take on the St. Louis Cardinals in the third game of their best-of-five NLDS.

Liriano is 4-0 with a 1.16 ERA in his four career starts against the Cardinals, holding them scoreless on two hits over eight innings when he faced them back on August 30. The lefthander went 16-8 with a 3.02 ERA in the regular season.

The Detroit Tigers' Justin Verlander is 8-6 with a 2.48 ERA over his 15 career starts against the Oakland Athletics as those teams meet in Game 2 of their ALDS on Saturday night.

Verlander last faced the A's back on August 27 at home, allowing five runs (three earned) on four hits over five innings of work in that losing cause. Detroit topped Oakland 3-2 in Game 1 of the best-of-five ALDS on Friday night.

Oakland sends Sonny Gray out against Verlander for the Tigers in this game; Gray was 5-3 with a 2.67 ERA on the season.

A Los Angeles vs. Boston World Series matchup is the most popular betting pick according to sportsbooks who posted baseball playoff betting lines Thursday.
